News that Fraser Forster has signed a long term contract with Celtic, who will pay Newcastle United £2m for his services, adds some welcome stability ahead of the Champions League qualifiers. Buying a new, first-choice, keeper is fraught with the kind of difficulties Neil Lennon would rather avoid.
Last summer we looked at Croatian international Stipe Pletikosa, who performed at the European Championships, but he failed to impress during his trial period at Celtic, including a poor performance against Wolves at Celtic Park.
Last year we also looked at Polish cap, Gregorz Sandomierski, who subsequently went to Belgian club racing Genk for €3m, but he failed to make a competitive appearance for Genk and was shipped back to Poland on loan. By comparison, Forster, who turned 24 on St Patrick’s Day, cemented his place with the champions.
Last year Celtic concluded a provisional deal with Newcastle to sign Fraser on a permanent deal this summer but although player and club were both keen to do business, negotiations took until the end of the players’ summer break, perhaps reflecting a tightening of Celtic’s finances ahead of what could be a period of financial uncertainty in the Scottish game.

According to Clyde , we are now going to lose 18 million from Scottish football if the CHEATS don’t get into SFL1.
You would think that if you are going to tell lies you would at least get your story straight .
16 m last week – 18 m today , what will it be tomorrow -20 m ??????

We should ask wee shug for a complete breakdown of how the £18m was achieved..then step back and listen to his head explode!
…meanwhile Mark Hate-me said that Big Fraz signing was like…..well, er, um, another kick in the knakas!
Son of Gabriel,
Apart from advice already given the link below also suggests vacuum cleaner for 20 minutes to draw out as much moisture as possible before the rice treatment, but not a hair dryer ( as I would have tried).

Best of luck Knoxy and Oscar. The priest mentioned you yesterday morning without giving the name, but knew it was you he was talking about.
You, Oscar and the whole family are in our thoughts and prayers.

we will be driven from our homes, stripped of everything we own, continually made to watch Andy Cameron Videos, then if we have not had enough we will have to listen to Bomber Brown’s explaining the day to day running of a football club
his source did not want to be named, but it’s true so it is
Good man yourself big Fraser Forster
It took a while to convince me of his ability especially in first season when he didn’t seem to use his size well enough for me, particularly in dealing with crosses
but last season he seemed to grow into the jersey a hell of a lot and improved big time.
Just the sort of stablility we need
All the best Knoxy!

Got offered the same deal last week, I asked if it was prime stag and was told yes, so I handed over my cash.
Next day I got a delivery of 144 tins of stew.
My wife said that’s gross.
I had to agree.

celticRchamps @fraseforster is only 9 games away from his 100th Hoops appearance. 91 matches on loan must be a record. He has 50 cleansheets in that time.
Great news about Fraser Foster.

Glad to hear that big FF has signed up – couldn’t believe Lenny rated him over Zaluska at the beginning of last season. Thought he looked stiff and lacked confidence all through his 1st season with us.
However the progress he has made over the last season has blown me away – credit to him and Stevie Woods.
Think he can only get better – the fact that he’s no longer on loan and that he is now officially a Celtic player can only be good for his confidence going forward.
Hail Hail

I’m happy that Big Fraser has signed, he played his part in us winning the league last year.
Welcome to Celtic Fraser…Well Done Neil and Stevie Woods!!
Paul67
Delighted we have secured FF a significant investment by the club and a vote of confidence in our future by a keeper with big potential and options elsewhere.
Good stuff!
Which begs the question:
Anybody wondering about peepul signing deals with sevco?
Even for a year…probably not for much dosh and not for long eh?
Don’t like seeing anyone in a redundancy situation and not many do that if they have alternative options.
Anyone signing a deal with that lot either cannot read, won’t listen, or is in desperate situation (would not wish that in any breadwinner)
Not a smart career move either way

Good advice already but don’t put on a radiator.
Electronics and heat don’t mix.
A couple of extra things:
If it was soapy water you will need to get the circuitry cleaned, open up the phone and wash it in water
If you have access to a hairdrier that blows cold air, use this to get rid of the excess water.
Leave it in a bag with dessicators for a few days. Best to use is the wee sachets you get in shoe boxes although a bag of rice will do the job.
Your phone will never be the same as before, you’ll probably notice that the battery life will reduce.
That being said, my phone went for a swim in the sea and I’m still using it 6 months later.

I’m also pleased to see one of Fraser’s old clubs, Norwich City, come to visit us later this month.
Isn’t it grand to be signing players and preparing to defend our title next season?

Great News about big Fraser.
This might be a slight criticism of Celtic but it’s rare that we get such raw potential and create real class in a couple of seasons.
His overall record is none too shabby but his confidence and technical ability has improved hugely.
Wonder what Mark Hately would make of it…
