Founder Investors still needed at Sevco

1376

Anyone consuming media coverage would think that the on-going investigation into the registration of Rangers (since renamed RFC 2012) players over the last decade or so was the most pressing matter within The Rangers (until recently, Sevco).  I really don’t think so, although it is a useful rallying flag.  The EBT issue is not short of drama but there are more immediate concerns.

More importantly, I hear The Rangers are still trying to raise the initial £10m Founding Investors capital.  The Sevco Investor Presentation offered these Founding Investors two shares for each one purchased, “effectively doubling their contributions” ahead of a stock-market floatation later this year.  My understanding is they hope to raise £20m at that floatation, without the two-for-one share incentive, in order to see them through several years in the Scottish Football League and at least four years without European income.

If/when this matter materialises, remember, in 1994 Fergus looked you in the eye and allowed you to buy into Celtic at exactly the same rate he and the other early investors did.  This model worked, anyone hoping to emulate Fergus’ success would do well to offer fans the same terms.

The size of the total capital requirement may be as much of a disincentive to early investors as the terms currently on offer.  If you put significant sums in now and the floatation fails to deliver enough cash to allow the company to continue trading, your investment is at risk.  I hope Laurel and Hardy at Hampden haven’t deleted their Armageddon slides.

Even selling 40,000 adult season tickets for Ibrox at £268 each would bring in only £9m (ex-vat), so there is a good chance this company will burn cash reserves for some time, assuming they pay taxes, of course, which was apparently optional for some in the recent past.

Target closing date for Foundation Investors was 6 July with Q3 / Q4 slot for floatation on the AIM market, so we should be seeing a prospectus sometime soon if plans are back on track.  If Charles Green pulls this off he deserves some sort of Businessman of the Year award.

Anyone who thinks the drama is over still hasn’t realised the enormity of the situation.

I know another super manager who might be available soon! He has drawn against some of the best clubs in lower league Scotland.

oh please they deserve each other

  2. Roll on the Scotland game. As much as I have no faith in Levein as our manager I agree with him that we have a half decent squad now and are in with a shout of qualifying.

If it was me I’d be playing

    mcGregor

    Hutton

    Berra

    Caldwell

    Dixon

    Forrest

    Morrison

    Adam

    Naismith

    Mackie

    Rhodes

But we all know that’s not going to happen …..

4-5-1 if we are lucky at home….

I think our best team is

    McGregor

    Hutton

    Mulgrew

    Caldwell

    Fox

    Forrest

    Brown

    Morrison

    Naismith

    Fletcher

    Rhodes

And with that team we would qualify….

On the park Celtic are starting to purr.

Off the park Celtic are very clued in.

It is all good, there really is nothing to moan about at this precise moment, the cry for help should be noticed. I will always be there for KevJ to talk to and I’m sure you would be too.

I say usually, unless Armenia pull their finger oot, mine are all down, and they just have as I type……phew

  6. Can anyone help clear up the following please

As I understand things Sevco were allowed to change their name to The Rangers because an extraordinary meeting of Oldco Rangers shareholders (that didnt even take place) agreed to allow Sevco to use their name.

Nevertheless the name change was reported as approved and it came to be. Sevco became The Rangers and so said all the media.

Thing I dont get is this. If Company House havent even received a request from Sevco to change their name to The Rangers and no name change can occur during the liquidation process and thereafter for aprox 12-18 months how can Sevco and the MSM presenting this name change to The Rangers as a fait accompli?

Furthermore Company House spokesperson is on record saying current rules would prevent any such name change being allowed because of the sizeable debt owed by oldco Rangers.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18509619

If anyone can clear this up for me fire away please.

You’ve answered your own question I.e. ‘pretendy rangers’ have no legal right to call themselves ‘The rangers’. It’s like saying the ones who went into administration and were deducted 10 points for doing so are not the same ones about to be liquidated. They are.

My only fear in all of this is that charles greens necrophilia is being sponsored at a very high level between westminster and holyrood., and being used as a bargaining chip by both sides on future constitutional arrangements.

Starter: Why were HMRC (a London controlled ‘institution’) reluctant to get involved in February, allowing whytey to appoint his own guys and then do a runner ?

Main: Why were there no objections from the scottish court when their appointed officers (D + P) actually increased the debt ?

Pudding: Why was chuck allowed to even get where he is at today, with a football team who do not meet any of the criteria to be where they are ?

The last thing that Westminster needs now is the inclusion of the ‘hun factor’ in any forthcoming referendum. Where are BDO ?

Guess I’ve answered my own questions as well. This is bigger than ‘football‘.

Carruth’s on High Street is sadly now gone so your best bet would be St Paul’s shop just beside GOMA.

May I suggest though that you continue to get your message across in your own inimitable yet subtle way.

    It certainly works mate.

From the team you selected I wouldn’t want to see at least nine of them playing for Celtic given the squad we have now.

  12. Ok Canalamar didn’t realise where you were coming from and sorry I needed it spelled out that must be an admin error or or or emm, a total ballsup, two business’s with the same number is I believe impossible:>)

  13. I just watched the KLF thing someone linked to earlier about them burning £1million quid.

My thoughts about it and the kinda people surrounding them?

Lines from a Steely Dan song :

” Show bizness kids makin’ movies of themselves

    You know they don’t give a ****

    About anybody else. ”

    It’s all just a lahrf.

    Aye…..right.

  14. ttt

I agree that we give the ball away all to often, but having a foreign coach will not stop sloppy play.

Having kids taught from an early age to pass and move will pay off at senior level, and this is where foriegn coaches are worth their weight in gold.

For some unknown reason brit coaches do not see the merits of a good first touch and ball control and retention.

I think Lenny is trying in general to play thsi way, but some of the players are struggling to keep up, their touch is shocking.

If I were a coach at the club, the first thing I would do is make them train/practise for 8 hours a day.

This could be one of the reasons that most clubs, outwith the brit isles, these days are streets ahead when on the ball.

They spend twice as long as we do training.

  15. I have mixed feelings about the Scotland game tomorrow.

I have always followed Scotland in the past but now that the blatant favroutism and downright corruption at the SFA hsd been witnessed by all – I aint so sure anymore. The only way that change will happen in the SFA is if folks turn their back on the Scotland team. But they won’t.

  17. TET,

    Totally agree.

That was my point earlier, bringing in those coaching methods to the youngest squads at the clubs.

It is too late by the time they reach the first team.

Sammi and Izzy are the best “touch” players we have.

Wide of the mark on several fronts.

HMRC did not stand back and allow Whyte to appoint the administrator – there was a court hearing in Edinburgh to decide that matter.

You actually think anyone in Westminster gives a flying one about the Huns, Sevco or any other Scottish football club?

The BDO development will happen. It’s just a matter of time.

We should build the team around a good centre half but it wont be Wilson!! TG.

It could be Wilson, he has the best pace out of the lads there at the moment.

Efe, isn’t included yet. He has the pace of Dedé and will hopefully play like a Nigerian Brazillian. ;))

Just ordered two tickets for me and my eldest v Raith Rovers. Don’t know if I’m away on business and might miss the match that night but what the heck – only £17 for the two tickets and the proceeds shared by Celtic and the club of that fine up-standing, principled man, Turnbull Hutton.
