FOUR-GOAL PERTH OMEN FOR FORREST

JAMES FORREST is still looking for his first goal of the current campaign – and the evergreen Celt will take inspiration from the past as he prepares for some game-time against St Johnstone in Perth tomorrow.

The 33-year-old winger has claimed strikes in FIFTEEN successive seasons since making a scoring debut against Motherwell in April 2009/10.

Forrest, crocked in the Premier Sports League Cup triumph over Philippe Clement’s Ibrox outfit in mid-December, made his first appearance in 2025 with a cameo role in the 3-0 win over Hearts at Parkhead a week ago and hopes that will spark a return to the goal trail.

FORREST TO THE FOUR…the Celtic winger slots the ball past St Johnstone keeper Zander Clark during his goal spree in October 2018.

And the one-club man certainly knows how to put the ball in the Saints net at McDiarmid Park – a feat he performed FOUR times in a blistering half-hour spell in a Premiership outing back on October 7 2018.

Forrest led the rampage with an unstoppable display of chance-snatching as he piled the misery on keeper Zander Clark and his team-mates in a whirlwind outing.

It had been over 12 years since a Hoops player had claimed four goals in a league game, an achievement accomplished by Polish ace Maciej Zurawski against Dunfermline in February 2006.

Celtic’s other goals in a rampant afternoon in Perth were collected by Odsonne Edouard and Callum McGregor.

FOR THE RECORD: The line-up in October 2018 was: Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Benkovic (sub: Simunovic 61), Tierney; Forrest, Rogic (sub: Morgan 68), Ntcham, McGregor; Edouard, Griffiths (sub: Sinclair 61).
