Fragile limbs

The overwhelming request from an international break is that our players return injury-free.  Nir Bitton made an appearance as a second half substitute against Wales last night but left the field 18 minutes later, with a foot injury.

Nir is in the best form of his life and has carved himself out a deep-lying creative role in the Celtic team.  Central midfield roles don’t come up for grabs too often.  Two of our strongest players, Scott Brown and Stefan Johansen, compete for a small number of central midfield jerseys, although they are different types of players, so it’s important our Nir doesn’t spend too long on the side-lines.

Fraser Forster’s terrible knee injury last weekend was sickening.  The big guy is one of the most professional players in the game and is absolutely dedicated to his development.  His form in the FA Premier League this season has been sensational, recording more shutouts than any other keeper.

It’s a blow to Southampton too, who gave Celtic £10m for Fraser’s services seven months ago.

    Hi,mate.

Just a wee quick thank you for an outstanding evening. Everyone at our table had a ball. And pretty sure that was the same throughout.

Well done to all for the organising.

    And,of course,for what you do.

Wonderful video of the relaxed kids enjoying themselves, its brightened up my morning no end.

Also, my thanks to those who suggested loading adblocker to suppress those damned adverts.

  5. Morning all.

Miserable down here at the moment. Dark, wet and windy.

I well remember my first game at Celtic Park. I was passed from thearms of father to uncle to uncle in the Hayshed. I must have been about 4. I spent what time I saw the pitch looking for a wee barra (turns out it was Bobby Collins)that everyone was calling for. Of course, I never saw any barrow, big or small. It must be been at least 60 years ago.

If anyone ia planning ro go through the raith interchange today, at m74/a725 junction, the layout has been changed.

I went through it on saturday morning. Instead of going round the roundabout to go to east kilbride, we were diverted to go towards bellshill, come off at the raised roundabout, double back down to the interchange

. They had blocked off the outside lane at the roundabout used as you come off the m74 sothbound to go towards bantyre on the a725. This lane was being used for traffic heading for bothwell, hamilton, blantyre or east kilbride which had been diverted towards ballshill then double back down.

It looks like work is being started on the underpass below the the roundabout at the raith.

Good morning from a sunny but blustery Nordrhein Westfalen, kite flying weather. Problem is I don’t have a kite.

Love the Kano Foundation song, well done to all of those involved.

Four days until I’m back in Glasgow and hopefully to see the Bhoys v the Buddies in the town of short arms and deep pockets, I can’t wait. More importantly re-united with my family.

Was at K-Park in EK yesterday for my son’s game and came across a Celtic v thems charity game. Sally is absolutely massive, and he blatantly dived to “earn” a penalty in the last minute ! Hoops won 8-7 with Jackie-Mac, Simon Donnelly, Darren Jackson, Willie McStay and Mark Burchill all appearing. Doesnt matter what the occasion its always good to beat them

  21. MO’N must’ve been in top form giving the half-time team talk last night.

Certainly elicited a positive response from his players in the most competitive mini-league in the world. Exciting second-half.

Though, having seen Germany away to Georgia, not sure how competitive it’ll remain after the next couple of games.

Not great opposition, but some superb football played by the World Champions.

Though they may lack a cutting edge now that Klose has gone.

Getting your Nat King ( Cole )-

Stream of great jazz 45s from the mid 40s to the early 50s and then the need to make money led to one of the great sell outs. .

His piano playing on this LP is truly fabulous —Lester Young / Buddy Rich Trio ( Norgran ).

The commercial Nat King Cole made huge money for Capitol Records.. The famous circular Capitol Records building in Los Angeles was built with the money made by Nat King Cole. . The building is known as – The House That Nat Built
