I’d convinced myself I wasn’t too bother if newco are promoted this season or not, all the big battles have been won and lost. I realised differently when I received a text yesterday saying Queens were a goal up. Your instinct can tell you things your head can’t.
Another season of lower league football will drain them of an additional £10m, which I don’t think they have, but I don’t think they have enough money to complete a season in the top flight either. It doesn’t matter if the boat sinks in 50m of water or 50km, there would be a deficit in either league. Viability remains the subject of undocumented fantasy, cannon fodder-dom awaits in the top flight, ignominious avoidance in the lower leagues.
If Mike Ashley cuts them some slack, they will eventually be a top 12 club. When they are, Celtic will earn an extra £4m from ticket sales and indirect incremental income, enough to make a difference on the field. Similar income will go to Ibrox, but this isn’t enough to fund a turnaround. My preference would be to have both Hibs and Hearts back next season but I’m chilled either way.

I think the Ukraine situation is far more volatile than the Cold War exactly because it is not a simple ideology issue, we have two feral capitalist states and both fascist/imperialist looking to protect their interests, I don’t believe the Russians are being expansionist in this, as you say, they have seeded and they IMO owe those communities protection.
Whereas the US fear the growing Russian economic strength and economic allegiances being set up and are trying to destabilise, the big difference here is the Russians are not afraid of the US and as a matter of course provide alternative propaganda which going by those who present the Russian propaganda (mostly famous american news desk and journalists) it needs to be said is more likely to have been better researched and verified.
Fundamentally America built what Russia has become as they have with every country they influence and as usual they will use every underhand trick in their book to turn it into a lawless society their corporate owners will be free to plunder.

I would say Russia are being nothing but expansionist. Ukraine is just the beginning, my partner is from Latvia, the baltic states throughout History have been pulled back and fourth from russian imperialist rule and others for that matter.
Today what you wont see on the news unless you happen to be from Latvia, estonia etc is that their armies however minute in comparison to Russia are on their borders waiting for the invasion. There is a real and genuine fear it will happen. Russia planes are continually flying over their territories.
My partners family who most still live in Latvia are all in fear of such a thing and its very real.
