There’s something not right about a free weekend in early March; we should still have been in the Cup. Congratulations are therefore due to the five managers who remain in the competition, who have each shown remarkable abilities and are truly invaluable resources to their respective clubs – worth contract extensions all round.
Congratulations are also due to the 40,000 Aberdeen fans who will pack Celtic Park next weekend for the League Cup Final. Opponents, Inverness, have shifted only 7,000 of their 20,000 allocation, although I hear there is a brisk trade in tickets this morning, many of which will end up in the hands of Aberdeen supporters.
40,000 Aberdeen fans at a game may be unprecedented, despite the 147,365 attendance at their 1937 Scottish Cup Final against Celtic. No one was to know demand would be so buoyant from Aberdeen, but now the SPFL do know, they need to ensure the spare circa 13,000 tickets are sold to Aberdeen fans in a controlled manner.
Many thanks to everyone who donated to Mary’s Meals since the MyDonate link went up on Friday. We are more than halfway there to funding the second school kitchen, at St Joseph’s Primary School in Kasungu, Malawi. Stunned at the response. You can get involved here.
Seville, The Celtic Movement, launches this month.
“It might not happen anytime soon but sometime down the line I’d like to think we could get there again. Maybe even go that extra mile and win the Cup. Henrik Larsson was our hero in this outstanding run and we’d probably need to look at finding another Henrik to get us there again! Remember that Celtic recently finished ahead of Benfica in Champions League Group stages and they dropped into the Europa Cup, reached the final and were very unlucky not to win it.”

“Did anyone see Dermot Gallagher on SSN this morning.what was his view on the sevco goal, did he stick by the referee brotherhood”
He wasn’t asked about it. Clearly it wasn’t controversial enough…
gordybhoy64 Dermot Gallagher said it was a good goal as he never once looked at the keeper always on the ball.
Alan Curbishley. However said not a chance he fouled the keeper by barging into him and also by having his arm so high it impeded the keeper.

Steinreignedsupreme,
cheers mate, thought I had seen a bit on SSN where they said they would be asking him about it
I just saw the goal Sevco got against Albion Rovers. There is no way that goal would have stood in any other game, at any level, anywhere on the planet. Well, not since 1950 anyway.

The first one freaked me out a bit too, a plastic vent fell of the wall and hit the radiator in my kitchen in the middle of the night. I almost had a senior nappy moment!!

Was at the Morton game , we did everything but score , pretty poor final third , we were at the opposite end of stadium , it looked like Efe tried to turn back , slipped and his arm brushed the ball in your opinion was it a stonewaller ? Was it even a pen ?
Facchetti Meazza Rivera
Saw the greatest ever ,Pele when Scotland played Brazil at Hampden.
Pele had the misfortune of being man-marked by a young Billy Bremner.First cap?
It was the most extreme man-marking Ive ever seen .Bremner stuck to the great man like glue and didnt give him a sniff of the ball for 90mins. He even did his own bit of showboating dribbling round Pele. The Brazilians complained after the match as they had never seen anyone sticking so tight to Pele before. Bremner wasnt dirty just very single-minded.
Jim Baxter ran the show in that game and Stevie Chalmers scored in the draw.1-1?

Good evening friends. Very bright and spring-like in East Kilbride this evening.
Cheatin’ Beaton is merely the latest in a long line of rangerees/ludge brithers to officiate in Scoddish Foodbaw.
They have no shame, nor do their apologists in the MSM.
We must continue to expose these scoundrels at every opportunity and keep up the pressure on them since nobody else will.
Won’t Johansen just step into Biton’s place in midfield alongside Broonie?

And as for yesterday’s goal, I’ve now seen it from 4 different angles but still not entirely convinced that the whole of the keeper crossed the line ;-)

Talking earlier about the best Italian players to play at Celtic Park
I saw the following over my 50 years of watching the Celtic
Gianni Rivera ( awesome midfield player )
Franco Baresi ( one of the best defenders of his generation)
Paulo Maldini ( class )
Andrea Pirlo ( quality )
They all spoke highly of the Celtic Park atmosphere
The Johnatron @16 00
” Do you think there will be a supporters blog somewhere in Italy discussing their top Scottish players ? ”
Unlikely — but in 13 plus years of living in Italy , I have heard fitba fans voicing admiration for –
Charlie Cooke
Kenny Dalglish
Jimmy Johnstone
Bobby Murdoch
Jim Baxter .
Dennis Law
John White
Tony Green

…………………………….
I was at that game too. Stevie scored in the 1st minute. 1965 if I remember correctly but I’m sure Pele only played a half of the game.
