TOP French prospect Thomas Robert is edging closer to a dream move to Celtic.
The exciting 20-year-old Airdrie winger, son of former international star Laurent who spent five years at Newcastle, has been on the Hoops radar this season, as CQN reported in December.
Now Robert is poised for a training stint as the Parkhead men weigh up a summer move for the skilful youngster.
Talks have already taken place between the clubs and the youngster, who only arrived at the Championship outfit in the summer, could be ready to make the step up if he impresses at Lennoxtown, according to the Scottish Sun.
Robert is under contract until June 2022 and the Lanarkshire club will expect a hefty transfer fee for the wide man who has claimed four goals in 14 appearances.
The livewire raider has been scouted by the Hoops and there has been intreste from Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side, but last month’s suspension of the second and third-tier teams in Scotland delayed any hopes of the Frenchman in the previous transfer window.
