It’s one of those obscure football facts which appears more likely to be an urban myth, but when he jogs out onto Celtic Park on Sunday the proof will be there for all to see: Chelsea captain John Terry is a Celtic fan. I’ve heard many wide ranging reasons why people become attached to the club, not everyone was born into it as an accident of paternal heritage, some of us made our own way there.
I know one Ulsterman, from the loyalist tradition, who has lived in Scotland for decades, and, along with his friends, is a Celtic supporter. One season ticket holder told me he started shouting for Celtic as an infant, to tease his Rangers supporting father, but one day the teasing developed into the acquisition of a green jumper, an unusual occurrence in the family home. A bridge had been crossed, soon posters were on the bedroom wall, a Celtic Subbutteo team was bought and after a few years, a Celtic top made its appearance.
There are hundreds, possibly thousands, of great stories like these.
Sunday’s #19 Legenda’ game will be a chance for some of us to reminisce about the days when Pierre, Lubo, Jorge, Bobo, Tommy Boyd, the man himself, Stiliyan Petrov and, of course, the Swede, graced Celtic Park every week. It will be a rare chance to see Martin O’Neill on the on the touchline, perhaps without bouncing up and down. Well done to Carlos Cuellar for pitching up, even if he has to play the inevitable pantomime villain.
Monies raised will go towards Stiliyan’s Foundation and to stock a food bank, which will open in Glasgow this month with the aim of alleviating food poverty. Which takes us back to where we started.
Enjoy your day.

Will get the class to remember Blake in their prayers along with Oscar and McKenzie.
Also reminds me of the Cheech and Chong scene where the smell in the lorry from what was being smoked was disgusting.
“What you smoking?”
“Dog shit”
“What you smoking dog shit for?”
“Dog ate my stash!”

I certainly hope Carlos Cuellar is not booed. Its a Charity Gig in honour of Stiliyan Petrov, all the players incl Terry & Cuellar are there to support the Charity and to support Stiliyan, why on earth would anyone want to Boo any of them. Surely we are better than that.

Of the CL group teams, Celtic has the lowest co-efficient boost from their national rank (9%). Leverkusen get 42% extra

I think he deleted a lot of the more vile ones.
He’s getting a lot of pally banter from Raman, Jane Lewis and some other colleagues this morning, which is fine, but put those people near a microphone and they are very unlikely to tell the deady bears that Jim Spence just spoke the truth, nothing more.
I suppose the banter is really saying they know and accept that, but they are afraid to say it out loud.

You in turn have reminded me of Mrs S of T and I going to see them in a dive in London called the Magenta . They made a truly astonishing noise in between urinating on some of the audience .
Fab memory of one of Mrs S of T’s asking her about the gig and Mrs S of T replying ———

I saw them about 10 yrs ago, also in London, again making a remarkable noise and goading the audience (not with body fluids). However at one point I realised that what I though was stage scenery actually had eyes and was moving.
Terrified.

If it ain’t curried, they can keep it.
Pretty damn sure I’ve eaten worse, and that’s why I rarely ask for a replacement dish when I complain!
According to today’s Herald, Celtic spokeswoman fending of criticism of deal with tobacco company claimed that ‘other football clubs are involved in similar deals’.
Really thought we were different.

The last thing anyone suffering the trauma and stress of a hospital stay should have to put up with is poor food.
Sadly many hospitals take it to extremes by not feeding patients at all.

From newclub.co.uk website. Boohoo!!
Once again Rangers Football Club has been inundated with complaints from supporters angered by a comment made on a BBC Scotland Sportsound programme.
On Wednesday night (September 4) one of their presenters referred to Rangers as ‘the old club.’ He also said ‘the club that died.’
The presenter stated this even though the BBC Trust had ruled in June that BBC Scotland had breached its guidelines with the use of the terms ‘new’ and ‘old’ when reporting on Rangers.
The Trust upheld two complaints that the BBC were wrong to use ‘new’ in relation to our Club but it appears BBC Scotland are determined to continue to ignore a clear ruling of its own Trust.
The part of the programme in which the presenter made his remarks was edited out of the podcast of Wednesday evening’s programme, presumably because the BBC realised the presenter had gone against the guidelines. However, there has been no attempt to issue an apology and the Club shares our supporters’ view that the remarks were both unacceptable and ill-advised.
Rangers’ lawyers have been instructed to write to the BBC Trust highlighting this latest breach of BBC guidelines and BBC Radio Scotland’s apparent unwillingness to observe the Trust’s ruling. They will also seek confirmation of what steps will be taken by the BBC, particularly in relation to the BBC Scotland’s journalists, to ensure these breaches stop.

Jim Spence had the temerity to suggest on Radio Scotland that Rangers might have died.
A lot of deady bears lashed out on Twitter. Perhaps they were upset that no one had mentioned this to them before. Then again …
My fondness memory of Carlos Cuelar is his handball and red-card from a Nakamura shor in the 2-1 game back in April 2008

it is a bloody disgrace.
I am no food snob I’m looking forward to my burger from a van on Sunday but the mulch they serve in these places is worthless nutritionally and always low grade meat or veg.I always sign in as Halal but it makes little difference. A big problem often is to get released on thier terms which is crucial should you need further treatment is you have to prove to be eating well. Luckily I have family and friends who can look after my meals every day sometimes for months.
