FROM HULL TO PARADISE FOR MOSES?

HULL CITY defender Moses Odubajo has joined Celtic in Austria as he hopes to convince Brendan Rodgers he is worth a permanent contract.

The 24-year-old London-born full-back, a former England Under-20 cap, hopes to revive his career once his deal with the Championship club expires at the weekend.

Odubajo started out at Leyton Orient before joining Brentford in 2014 then made a £3.5million move to Hull 12 months later.

He was the first-choice right-back as his new club were promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs in his first season, but a serious knee injury put him out of the game.

Despite failing to feature for the team for two entire campaigns, Rodgers believes he could potentially offer competition for Mikael Lustig with discussions now ongoing.

His possible arrival will spark speculation about Christian Gamboa’s future at the Hoops. He arrived in a £1million deal from West Brom in August 2016, but the player, currently in Russia with Costa Rica, made only three appearances last season.

Anthony Ralston is also is hoping to make an impact in the No.2 position after his initial breakthrough in the first half of last term when he made five fist team outings, including facing Neymar and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League encounter in Glasgow.

Injury sidelined him before he spent the second half of the season on loan at Dundee United.

Now Odubajo could arrive to add even more competition.
