FROZEN-OUT CELT VALUED AT £1.75m

FROZEN-OUT Celt Jack Hendry is valued at £1.75million by the champions.

The versatile Scotland international defender agreed a season-long loan deal with Begian club Oostende in the summer when the buy-out fee was fixed.

Hendry cost £1.2million when Brendan Rodgers signed him from Dundee in the January 2018 transfer window.

However, the 25-year-old right-back or centre-half has failed to settle at Parkhead and his only appearance last season was a cameo role as a late substitute for debutant Jeremie Frimpong in the 5-0 Betfred League Cup victory over Partick Thistle at Parkhead in September last year.

He had a temporary switch to Melbourne City last January, but an injury in his second outing scuppered his hope of reviving his career in Australia.

The £1.75million clause was revealed in a interview with Ben’s Football Blog and, after only four months and 10 appearances for the top-flight side, it looks as though the Belgians would be happy to meet the player’s asking price.

However, Hendry is under contract at the Hoops until June 2022 and he may still have a future at the club.

Neil Lennon’s side have shipped 28 goals in their last 12 games and £2million loan signing Shane Duffy has failed to impress since arriving from Brighton.

Kristoffer Ajer has been continually linked with a move at the end of the campaign – with Leicester City and AC Milan both mentioned – while Israeli international Hatem Abd Elhamed is likely to be heading for the exit, as CQN reported earlier today.
