The Daily Record’s political editor today published information obtained from the Scottish Government by a Freedom of Information Request, where Police Scotland note Newco “actively engaged” supporters to break lockdown rules in March this year.
Following Newco’s game with St Mirren on 6 March, Police Scotland received assurances from Newco that they would encourage fans to stay at home. The Police memo stages, “Whilst assurances were given this did not materialise.”
The Police go on to stage Newco made “numerous statements encouraging celebration, including from the manager (Steven Gerrard).”
“Both the Manager and players actively engaged from within the stadium with fans gathered in disgraceful displays of encouragement, in solid opposition to the public safety issues arising, to their responsibilities given the privileges under which football operates, and to the commitments they had made around public communications.”
The Government should have acted on this information in March. Football privileges were being actively flouted by one club but it took further incidents this month before Nicola Sturgeon felt it necessary to take on Newco. This is in stark contrast to her grabbing the mic. when Celtic followed her own rules during their trip to Dubai.
You will see not contrition from Newco. Instead, they will deflect and distract. Let them sink in their own sewage.

Just listened to Ian McGarry and Duncan Castle’s transfer window podcast. They are very credible sources and are clear that Howe’s preference is the south of England and he’s leaving Celtic dangling as a fall back.

In my opinion, it doesn’t have to be.
A revitalised Scottish Labour Party under Sarwar deserves the chance to make a mark at Holyrood – the most powerful devolved parliament in the world.
A Labour Party pushing for distinctly Scottish solutions to Scottish problems, but with the strength and financial support of the UK economy.
Once the Damoclean threat of independence, which as we all know now, even the SNPcult know, has no coherent economic case, is lifted, we can give jobs, business, health, education and all social issues, our undivided attention. Constitutional issues can be consigned to the dustbin of history, where they belong. We can then rebuild after Covid and the long period of SNP navel-gazing, incompetence & corruption.
There is hope – independence is a dead-duck….even a catalogue of lies in the “thick’ White Paper of 2014 couldn’t convince a majority. So there is definitely no chance now with the disappearance of oil-revenue and an increasing reliance on fiscal-transfers from the UK to cover the deficit.
Let’s get the SNPcult out of Holyrood – uncover their corruption and misconduct in public office and open the books for all to see.

I am by no way an authority on Manager foootball clauses, but am aware some are continued for the length of the original contract dependant on how the exit was negotiated (which we’ll never know) and, therefore and potential bonuses achieved in this time provided said manager has not taken a new job by that time.
Great negotiation if true. Guess that’s why you have agents and lawyers.
