There was a spring in the step this morning as we look forward to Celtic taking to the field for the first time under Brendan Rodgers against Slovenians, NK Celje.
While the usual caveats apply – we’re unfit and will look it, the manager doesn’t really know the players yet – it will be interesting to see the formation, and how it contrasts to Ronny’s reign. I would also look out for wee clues as to how we will play, like how the keeper distributes the ball, and where the full backs play.
16 years ago Martin O’Neill took his team to the Netherlands and was well beaten, but he returned to Amsterdam a few weeks later, where he ripped up the form book, so don’t get too stressed by what might happen later.
Once in a lifetime opportunity……
There are rare experiences and then there are extremely rare experiences, but the chance to appear in the Celtic team photo is incredibly rare.
Thanks to Malorbhoy, we have a £5-a-ticket raffle to win the chance to appear in your very own team photo, alongside the Celtic players and management at the preseason photocall for 2016-17.
You will then meet treble winning captain, Tom Boyd, who will give you a personal tour of Celtic Park.
Celtic will provide you with a strip, which you will retain, and you will receive your team photograph, framed and signed by the team, on a specially prepared mount.
This is an incredible experience for any Celtic fan.
Your donations go to Celtic FC Foundation, to support their work in Health, Equality, Learning and Poverty. The Foundation deliver often life-changing support and opportunities to children and adults in Scotland, Ireland, the rest of the UK and in many needy areas of the globe.
Many thanks and good luck!

CorkCelt,
You don’t believe that the management team can tell from this game….who has the qualities to fit his system(s)…..for me most got pluses Ralston, Rogic, Henderson, McGregor, Armstrong, Cifti…..Ajer out of position
Definite negs are Jo Hanson & JF
BR doesn’t really have too much time to identify his core 11…..he needs to be ruthless in his assessments in the coming weeks ;-))

Stuart Armstrong is an excellent player who struggled with the pressure of playing for Celtic. I sense that he will feel more comfortable this coming season and be an excellent player for us. I am,though, a little concerned re Scott Brown. I am one who has rated him as our most important player so I hope he finds his form again. If not, I feel Armstrong could fill the role.
It would seem, based on comments on here, that McGregor,Armstrong and Rogic have been the first of the multitude of midfielders to make an impression. Add an on form Broonie to those three ( or a signed Joe Allen),and we have a decent midfield. Mind you, we would then need to play three at the back to make room for Paddy, Moussa and Griff!

Thank you sir. However, I’m on an iPad and unfortunately don’t have a kodi.
Try installing Kodi on your iPad
Only saw the second half but I was impressed with Janko at left back, considering he is a right back. Surprised to see O’Connell play as anytime I saw him in developement games at start of last season he read a game well but very raw and slow on the turn.

” I think i was watching a different match ”
Phew, now I feel better about my Homer moment with Hibernian.
HibernianS !!
The difference between first half and second was frightening.
Much better second half, far more positive, played with a purpose.
Rogic must be kept, a bit worrying that a deal has yet to be done.

Yes you said but imo he was strong, solid and direct for a right-footed player playing on the left.He also kept possession well.I personally was less impressed with whoever it was played at right back second half. Its all about opinions I guess.

All Res12 t-shirts have now been posted.
We had a re- order which we paid for due last Friday. They didn’t arrive and we were subsequently advised we wouldn’t get them until 7th July.
This was. Unacceptable so we ordered another batch elsewhere to fulfil the outstanding orders and this was done today.
We will still have another 50 arriving in end next week so we have put the shirts back on sale at http://www.cqnbookstore.com
We have 1 medium, 1 large and a few XXL here at the moment if anyone is in a hurry to get one.
Meanwhile our new beach book Once Upon a Time in the Kingdom of Govania is out tomorrow and everyone who has ordered should start receiving copies on Saturday.
It is hilarious!
Again order at the bookstore.
Btw hearing Scott Sinclair is very keen to sign….
A wee bit early to judge anyone,a case for these games to be behind closed doors,a few quid from a TV company will cover the cost of the trip though
Jeromek67
The right back in 2nd was Ralston.
He almost scored and created some chances whilst never once was beaten
Janko struggled to beat his man many times thought i did say he was playing out of position and kept turning inside onto right foot. The odd time they got forward in second it was down our left side.
Sheep 2-1 up
