Jozo Simunovic has had an unusual first month as a Celtic player. His solitary appearance came in the Amsterdam ArenA two weeks ago, injury has kept him side-lined since, but there’s a good chance he’ll face Fenerbahce in two days’ time. It takes a lot for a 21-year-old to make his club, then home, debut in these circumstances.
Getting it right in defence on Thursday will be the most important area of the field for Celtic. The responsibility to attack normally lies with the home team in Europe but Fenerbahce will attack for all they’re worth at Celtic Park. A home defeat to Molde means that even a draw away to Celtic would put the Turks in a good position. They need a win and will have watched some of our defending this season.
Ronny played it perfectly against Ajax and I’d be tempted to do the same again. We can score against anyone at Celtic Park. Defend properly and we’ll do well.
Thanks to everyone who donated to the Foundation since our Great Scottish Run appeal went out yesterday. The Foundation are currently working with the British Red Cross, Refugee Crisis Appeal, assisting people fleeing war and persecution in the Middle East and Europe. Money raised from this month’s Jock Stein Anniversary game went to this cause, and, in line with many other clubs, €1 from every ticket sold will go to assisting refugees. There’s a lot more to come on this subject.
The work goes on in other areas, of course, as the Foundation works with those who fall through the cracks in society, and sponsors projects with the sick, or families who need assistance. There are a number of us participating in the Great Scottish Run for the Foundation, you can contribute on any of the pages below:
Click here for my linked donation page.
If you are running for the Foundation and would like a shout for your donations page, email me, celticquicknews@gmail.com
And it’s not too late to sign up, get the trainers out, and run it yourself!
Thanks for your support.

Dublin 7,
WITS,
I’m I Cabra tomorrow if you fancy beer.
The only thing I would say is Cabra is full of great people.
Clogher
WITS: It was the “offering condolences” reference I reacted to. I was born and raised in Donnycarney, very similar to Cabra. I work on the south side and have great banter with the people there. However, some people take it too far, on both sides. As I said, maybe I over-reacted. I appreciate that you took no offence.
Marspapa
You are starting to sound like my ex wife. ;))))
bloody typed this up on tablet and several attempts to post met with betting websites and turkish airlines, wtf.
anyways,
BIG MOON RISING.
drove up the m8 just after 8, from the port to bish tonight.
at the top of the port doon to greenock and the clyde beyond looking towards dunoon the sunset was just spectacular red sky . quite stunning.
from parklea roundabout and up there was a magnificent moon rise, creeping above duntocher, i guess the orange was from the sunset reflection.
the port, greenock, the clyde, dumbarton, duntocher , clydebank, can be beautiful, sometimes

A few comments about the ET article on HMFC thugs:
The HMFC statement is almost word for word regurgitation of the statements so often spouted by RFCil and Sevco in similar circumstances.
They’re not called ‘Cousins of William’ for nothing you know.
Also, the police statement about there being other people on the train who were not going to the match etc…. Erm, this type of behaviour is intolerable to people whether they are going to the match or not.
The point is that loutish behaviour should not be tolerable at any time. Regardless of links to football.
WITs,
the Homestead isn’t posh. Mrs C is from Carnlough Road..
clogher
its funny i know but growing up i thought it was posh.

Why am I getting all these most annoying adverts when I log into CQN now?? It wernt broke you know the rest!!!!
Delia still here? Looking forward to watching his master craftsman tactics at work on Thursday.
Posted Missing FC
EPL sides lost 6 out of 24 CL group games last season.
5 lost already this time around after only 8 games.
They need to spend more money!
Griff banned for 2 games???
Just watched an excellent documentary in Jim Baxter on BBC Alba.
He came across very well in the doc as is the norm when talking of the deceased.
However my one striking memory is of wee Willie Henderson; a man I’ve met on several ocassions.
Wee Willie played for the Huns but was never one himself. One of the nicest wee guys I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet and a guy who I believe doesn’t have a bigoted bone in his body….an absolute gent.
If only we were all like wee Willie….but I still couldn’t play for them.
After tonight’s humiliation from English clubs ..
How long are the English paying public .. Gonna swallow Murdoch’s bull ?
we talk about apathy in the celtic attending support.
its even more illustrated in posting on CQN,
20 MINUTES BETWEEN POSTS.
who cares about celtic anymore
Laughed today at earlier mention by someone of Admin 2 over at Mordor, bookie being mentioned as having referred to it
Would love to have offered him a bet that he couldn’t tell me when a CVA was agreed allowing Rangers 1872-2012 to exit administration.
Not a bet he would have taken, of course. 2012 being the clue.
Any winnings would have gone on Celtic ht/ ft on Thursday anyway!
Watched the JB documentary on ALBA too .. Succumb to the ole Scottish disease .. Alcoholism ..
Enjoyed seeing him doing keepy uppies at Wembley ..
No a bad bone in his body.
whisper it but,
willie johnstone, did not hate the celtic either, a good fifer first,
Gerry Rafferty on radio Scotland now ..
D D
“Ur beginning to sound like my ex wive”. Can u still hear her dullcett tones rattlin in ur head??
Careful
Iain plays some great songs. Thats a Gerry classic imo!!!!
Personally I think EPL teams will struggle in Europe this season because Serie A needs 4 CL spots next year
Jude2005
Griff 2 games suspended sentence, given no repeat of offending behaviour. Fine not suspended though.
