Gibraltar echoes a caution for Belfast

235

I was cautioned yesterday on my assumption that Linfield would be fodder for the Celtic machine next month. The words, “You mean they’re no Lincoln Red Imps?” was the retort. Red Imps occupy a minor detail in the story of last season; a curiosity at the beginning of the Brendan Rodgers regime, bound to become a quiz question of the future.

Linfield will reach the second qualifying round of the Champions League and will be despatched by Celtic, but the jeopardy of a reversal in Belfast is a real possibility. While none of us begrudge Red Imps their moment of glory, the prospect of waiting a week to put right an indifferent early season performance would cause consternation.

Be ready for it, Celtic. Your opponents will be.

    Ernie, Jinky and Hunderbirds.

    Thank you all.

Ernie my wife was delighted at that information.

    Hunderbirds.

I will bare that in mind, no interest in cooking food when away so that’s helpful.

    Jinky.

Fingers crossed the fishing gets better for you.

    Hail Hail

Enjoyed a wee laugh there listening to Eddie Mair giving bumbling Boris Johnson a fair old grilling on radio 4. ‘Would you kindly stop answering the question before last, like the two Ronnies sketch? That was my very thought when Maggie May was being questioned on her desperate DUP alliance.

I think Ashley has decided to get as much money from the Numpties. Probably pissed off with dealing with Kng

  4. Well done Scott Sinclair on not even mentioning the huns when asked about next seasons challengers, and also Tom Boyd sticking up for us again and having a dig at McCrae

  5. You could all be right guys, but knowing Ashley I’m waiting on the sting, it stinks of lies from you know who, nothing is that easy when it comes to Ashley, he didn’t become a billionaire easy, he plays hard ball all the time, then again as some have said he may have changed, but I think there’re more behind it than that, paranoid?

The fact that there are no details is telling imo, they made a big thing of only getting 7p in the £ from the deal, what they didn’t tell you this is the norm, but the gullibillies bought it, morons of the highest degree, so the old stock will be shifted at their expense.

I am melting he looks as cool as an icicle in a fjord.

Do I givt him my road to Lisbon badge from my suit or not ?

  8. Hi Bhoys

Re the huns retail deal, could it not be that this old stock has got to be sold as the club/company have to buy any remaining stock from Sports Direct.

So it is in the lying king’s interest to get rid of the stock before SD hit them with another bill.

    KEEP THE FAITH

Hi Mike. As it happens a cup of tea will be waiting for you between 27th September – 8th October (i think)

Our little villa is on the Porec South bike route. The cyclists often stop at our place as it is at the top of an incline. They pinch a neighbour’s figs but Mrs HJ has advised her to be like Livia and inject them with laxative (poison is a bit too extreme for a fist offence) so don’t nick the figs.

You would be very welcome to stay over with us if the times suit.

Let us speak soon. i am back in Scotland on Sunday.

I read an article recently on the Ibrox in house agent, Mendes.

Seemingly he has a strong influence at Wolves, where the manager and a clutch of their signings are on his books.

It also mentioned that he had connections with the Chinese investors in the club.

Did anyone else read this ?

  12. THOMTHETHIM FOR OSCAR OK on 21ST JUNE 2017 7:04 PM

    That would be Jorge Mendes.

I believe the zombies are using Pedro Mendes. No relation*

*Well he could be I have no idea

You have hit the nail on the head in less than a handful of sentences.

Let’s see how long the lambarati take to work than one out….

  14. Yup, the more I look at it I’m thinking it’s the nuggets buying up the old stock to stop the club paying for it, had to be a sting somewhere and that’s probably it, it will all come out in the wash later in the week.

  15. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

    Thanks Reggie.

I wasn’t sure about the Christian name.

It was the similarities between the two clubs recruitment that caught my attention.

Anyway, them Mendes’ are all the same ! : > )

Why would any company or club want to reveal the minute details of a business deal?

In my many years working in the software industry, I have never seen the detailed clauses mentioned in a press release, or indeed a release to industry analysts.

So I wouldn’t expect to see Sevco revealing the ins and outs of their agreement.

I suspect they have made this agreement to avoid the costs of a court case which would embarrass and possibly cause a court order which seized their assets.

The revenue made will be buried deep in their accounts, if they survive that long.

Your’e spot on regards this retail deal , it’s old stock and the stickies will buy it ! Gulliebillies !!

  18. By my reckoning, since they were liquidated and a pheonix emerged from the sewer, they really haven’t been blessed with doing good deals, I’m sure someone will correct me, so I will take their deal with Mash as being good for them with a massive bucket of salt, I hope the barstewards burn very slowly in hell.

BTW hun lurkers, see them lights fading in the distance, that’s us surging away from you feckin losers.

Because of work commitments, we will likely be heading home a few days before you get there. That’s too bad. It would have been nice to catch up.

But I will drop you a line in a few days when you get home to catch up. Hope all is well.

and, if we do make it Porec, and you are not there, I will definitely make sure not to steal any figs!
