Do to Scotland what you did to Celtic

282

I don’t want to see a single Scotland player forced to miss the Croatia game as a result of Billy Gilmour’s positive test, announced today.  I did not want to see 13 Celtic players forced to miss two games, two weeks training sessions and isolate at home, following Christopher Jullien’s positive test in January.  I did not want to see Ryan Christie miss Celtic games after Stuart Armstrong’s positive result in October, but the latter two happened.

The disruption caused to Celtic’s season was immeasurable and, when 13 players as well as coaching staff were forced to isolate, the result of predatory Track and Trace action.  Billy Gilmour did not travel to Wembley alone, he did not have his own dressing room at the stadium, he did not eat alone, he did not socialise alone.  The government officials who hammered Celtic will look the other way today.

Ms Sturgeon, if  you are that concerned with public health, do to Scotland what you did to Celtic.  We all know there is zero chance of that happening.

. I’m not your ‘mate’ your use of suggests that was a ‘friendly’ post. Also I’m losing track of your posts more and more they are like you are arguing with yourself over an imagined image of me.

For someone who does not vote snp, you’re usually first or second to defend them.

When I say this you historically usually start nane calling, try to discredit me with questions over my mental capacity.

This whole conversation came about from those who can’t accept snp critique, then blame p67 or the board.

You are now criticising me for the same observations.

  4. Jimmy McGrory vs The SFA

Nothing can convince older Celtic supporters that Jimmy McGrory was not treated shabbily by the Scottish selectors, and that the neglect was due solely to the fact that he played for Celtic. The Evening Times printed an anonymous poem submitted to its ‘Gossip and Grumbles’ column on 6 April 1936:

If he hadn’t played for Celtic

and he’d worn the jersey blue,

I’m sure he’d be at Wembley

to the delight of me and you.

But, because a good man’s Irish,

sure it’s always been a sin.

Why! They wouldn’t give us credit

    for our champion Jimmy Quinn.

    Long life to you, McGrory,

you’re the best we’ve ever seen.

    You’re the finest centre forward

    who wore the white-and-green.

Interesting quote attributed to Steve Clarke

“Today’s training was a little bit disrupted but the bulk of the work has already been done”

Amending a 26-man training session to a 25 man gig hardly suggests disruption.

    An uninformed guess?

A selection of individuals trained alone.

    —————

The title of Prince of Scotland originated in a time when Scotland was a kingdom separate from England. The title was held by the heir apparent to the Scottish throne, in addition to his being Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles, and Great Steward of Scotland.

    Let me get this right.

You want independence but you’ll vote no in any subsequent referendum purely because the head of state immediately post-independence will continue to be a House of Windsor monarch.

So you’re pro independence but voting against it?

You’re content to live under the Crown in the UK but not in an independent Scotland??

Do you think Celtic were treated fairly, according to the rules, and in the same way as everyone else in Scottish football at all times by the SG?

  13. excathedra44 on

Reading back, can see no reason to criticise Pauls leader,we did after all suffer at the hands of both Government and SFA,my annoyance is we did not take them to task, particularly regarding the retrospective law associated with the Dubai trip.

Irrespective whether the trip was wise or not the application and manipulation of rules was disgraceful and should have been contested vigorously.

The fact the current situation is so similar, and being handled differently, is scandalous.

  14. Paul67 is absolutely right to demand exactly the same treatment for Celtic as the national team

Either you accept Celtic FC and by that I mean the club, board, employees, supporters are treated differently or you don’t.

To be honest I can’t help you if you don’t.

So the the question for me is why are we treated differently at all levels of officialdom in Scotland? From Police, to Sfa, Scots, Govt.

Being treated differently is ultimately the definition of discrimination.

From day one of Celtic, we were are resented.

    Why?

Because even if we are not individually or collectively practicing Catholic, or from Irish Descent. (And we are open to anyone remember) even given all of that, our haters perceive us as Irish and Catholic. Two groups they hate and discriminate against, it’s lazy but filled with resentment.

For me the levels this goes to in Scottish society are far reaching, so my point was that when we as Celtic are discriminated (treated differently) against, and our board, (who perversely observed by another poster earlier.are blamed) this forgets the original point, they don’t discriminate their discrimination- everyone at the Club including the Board, Employees, Supporters gets the treatment.

But it’s the boards fault of course! Discrim ination unfortunately is difficult to prove and isolate. If you can prove it legally, can you put out a statement? Legally maybe not…..Probably not.

Fergus legally challenged player registration, he had a legal timeline to point to with the sfa.

This is higher up and appears to be deeper.

    So my point stands.

It’s too convenient and imo lazy to blame the board as a deflection from snp blane for us consistently getting the treatment, blame those responsible.

Head to head is the criteria when it’s two teams tied.

Denmark, Finland and Russia all tied on 3pts.

In that case it’s a 3-way head to head involving the 3 games involving the 3 teams.

    Denmark 4-2 (4-1 v Russia and 0-1 v Finland)

    Finland 1-1 (1-0 v Denmark and 0-1 v Russia)

    Russia 2-4 (1-0 v Finland and 1-4 v Denmark)

    – how do you know we have done nothing and haven’t pointed it out?

    – hasn’t been experience taught us that pointing out discrimination doesn’t stop anything if you’re Celtic in Scotland? We’ve been discriminated against for our entire existence. Appealing to people’s better instincts only works in a fair and just environment. When has Scottish football ever been that?

  29. Two English players deemed to have been within two metres of Gilmour during a minute at the end of the match may be banned…and yet no one, but, no one, among twenty-five Scottish players did so during 48 hours of living, eating & training together. It smells like almost everything that passes within a mile of the SNPcult. The SFA have colluded with them since Boli at Kilmarnock.

To attempt to smear the Celtic board with a scintilla of this sh** is extreme cult behaviour – there are some among us who would be at the head of the queue when the KoolAid is being dished out.
