Gilmour remarkable rant against Doncaster, echoes of 2012

236

The Twitter outburst by former St Mirren chairman, Stewart Gilmour against SPFL chief exec, Neil Doncaster’s appointment to the SFA board, called “a bloody disgrace” and “in there as a puppet”, is remarkable on any level.

Despite working inside the game for many years, all Gilmour offered was the kind of Twitter rant any of us could come up with.  In short, that the SFA appointed someone they knew, with influence in the game.  If you are looking for the specifics behind Gilmour’s objection, you will not find it.

What Gilmour didn’t say was who supposedly was working Doncaster as a puppet.

Decisions made by the SPFL in 2012, when the league decided not to invite Newco Rangers (then Sevco) were not universally popular on the St Mirren board.  You heard other echoes of that time last year when Gilmour suggested that one of the Celtic Park backroom team was pulling the strings of Scottish football: “Some of the chairmen that attend the meetings will not take Peter [Lawwell] on. I think he’s got too much power on other clubs.”

We can only guess who Gilmour believes is pulling Neil Doncaster’s strings, but I suggest it is laughable, whoever it is.

Not wishing to put Rod down but he does appear to think it’s quite an achievement beating the new kids on the block. One would think that perhaps Rod sees thems as the same club.

These things never help my case when I’m on with “Blue watch” at work, trying to convince them that their team perished .

It’s not just what is on the park that we beat.

It is the inherited hordes in the stands and the mind set that drives them that we stuffed…..again.

In weird twist of events now Celtic’s Jozo Šimunović decided not to represent Bosnia-Herzegovina. He switched from Croatia to Bosnia last year, but never made an official debut for the team

Arsenal v Milan tonight could be interesting, if they can get the first goal would fancy a comeback from the Italians. Not exactly an intimidating venue, the Emirates.

Fans Against Criminalisation are delighted to announce that the Bill to Repeal the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012 has passed at stage 3. This is a historic victory for football fans. Thank you to all who have supported us.

The Scottish Parliament has voted to repeal the country’s Offensive Behaviour at Football Act.

The legislation was passed by the then-majority SNP government in 2011 in a bid to crack down on sectarianism.

All four opposition parties at Holyrood voted for it to be scrapped, arguing it has failed to tackle the problem. But the Scottish government said doing so would be “foolhardy” and would send out the wrong message.

The final vote saw 62 MSPs for and 60 against.

    Hmmmm. “Same club” Doncaster?

Didn’t he want Sevco into the SPL then SFL1?

Didn’t he set the TOR for Nimmo?

Didn’t he meet with Whyte pre admin?

And what has happened to his financial fair play rules?

    ====================

The ToRs for LNS were set by the SPL using Harper MacLeod who had investigated beforehand the use of ebts at Rangers and the LNS ToRs were shaped by what documentation Rangers Administrators at the time disclosed to Harper MacLeod.

What was not disclosed and who did not disclose what they knew and when, should come from the Compliance Officer investigation .

Until that happens we don’t know ND’s role directly or indirectly in LNS ToRs, nor indeed the SFA’s nor Rangers.
