Like the Oakland A’s, Alkmaar have to figure out a way to compete against teams with greater resources.
The lesson from Moneyball is seldom understood. It’s not about buying low and selling high, or imposing some-or-other financial prudence, it’s about measuring things which are really important in the game but not yet being measured.

Regarding being able to pay to get in….it would certainly be easier for guys like me.
Being able to come on here and ask for advice is a huge help.
Not everyone has that and id be surprised if there were not potential supporters that do not go because it is not straightforward and is perhaps daunting for some.
From the clubs point of view, perhaps they have guidance from the police regarding the way entry to the stadium is sold so they have cctv footage or card details of whoever bought the tickets.
Perhaps they like to use this method because of problems fans have caused and they think it helps to prevent bother?
Im not saying it has come about because of ourselves.
There has been bother over the years with so many clubs fans and i was thinking this may be a part of why things are the way they are now.
Just something i wondered about it all.
So the next task for the courts is to deal with DK’s petition to find him fit and proper to act as director…
