Sometimes it seems there is a constant struggle underway for the heart and soul of Celtic. It is incredible that for 125 years a community has managed to retain the conviction to help the less fortunate which drove forward those who formed the club.
Scarcely a day goes by without me receiving a message from someone offering to help those in need. This week it was tables for the Wayside Club Gala Dinner (Saturday 27 April, check it out here), someone send in a box set of the Byrds, to raise money ‘for the homeless’, and a reader parted with a precious top signed by the Seville team, which I’ve to collect in Glasgow.
Much of this goes on below radar but when a call to arms is needed it goes out in impressive clarity; the Wee Oscar campaign slipped into an infrastructure established when Kano took ill a few years back (hope you are doing well, Kano and we hear from you soon). Believe me, some of the work, and many of the discrete donations, would blow you away.
None of this is random. At some point each and every person who has stepped forward did so, knowingly or not, because of the way the Celtic Movement infected them.
A number of Celtic fans, and one former treble winning captain, are helping the Celtic Charity this year with the objective of encouraging each Celtic fan to raise £125. It feels like the right thing to do and if you’ve not brought yourself up to speed with the project yet, do it this weekend (more information here).
There will be formal events throughout the year but if you want to do a sponsored run/walk/cycle/jig, this is your invitation. You are reading this stuff because of your link all the way back to that hall in the Calton; get involved and earn your place in that 125-year-old story.

I am in awe of your tenacity, diplomacy and informed view of events.
Of course it doesn’t surprise me, as anything that has needed to be done for them, has been done…and will continue to be done.
The strategy has been too long in the planning and too far down the road of implementation, for it to be derailed now.
I am long past the stage of expecting justice to be done and kind of believe that a second admin/liquidation is part of the plan.
This present regime is, imo, a vehicle of getting money back for Ticketus and whoever else is involved in the dealings of Oldco.
Once that has happened, the “true” Rangers men will crawl out of the woodwork, backed once again by the fans and the erstwhile conglomeration of Knights of various shades of blue.
Then it will be back to business as usual.
That is why I have always said that it is what Celtic do that matters.
If we are even seriously perceived, after the dust has settled, to be in any way complicit, then it is all over.
All that would be left going to CP will be the Celtic Junkies. Ones who need the fix, no matter the cost.
From FIFA, down through the National Associations, football is seen to be corrupted by money.
The game is in it’s death throes, as far as the game we knew is concerned.
If this small corner of the game, one of it’s founders , can throw in a measure of integrity, then maybe, all is not lost.

Record Sport understands a host of First Division clubs are assessing the possibility of abandoning the SFL and Raith Rovers chairman Turnbull Hutton insists nothing has been ruled out.
He said: “One or two points of clarity were sought from the SPL. You could safely surmise that the 14-14 vote left us disappointed.
“Given the stalemate in the vote and the obvious split between the First Division plus one or two others and the rest of the SFL, it’s sensible for clubs to sound out what other possibilities there may be. Anything is possible.

I go about once a month when the only Sunday Mass I can make is the 9pm one held there.
When it’s full of kids from the school and their choir is full voice it is a truly spiritual occasion.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, when they were dying they boasted they’d take us all with them, – and they have, Celtic *junkies * and OCD’s apart Celtic face haemorrhaging XXXXXXX season tickets, with a Celtic support that doesn’t trust it’s leadership.
The attendances this season have steadily dropped, one fiasco after another
and now wer’e reduced to civil rights marches, so that we can continue with a
semblance of a game in Scotland.
The cheats won in an albeit a reincarnated form , and there are Celtic fans who have realized, a futile pointlessness, because there is no indication of what Celtic plan to do about the affirmation that the game is Scotland was, and will continue to be corrupt.
Celtic’s only answer appears to be be business as normal, and bring on the Huns, whenever, this is an unpalatable message.
