Goodbyes and appreciation

150

I’ve always had an issue singing “We don’t care if we win lose or draw”.  I don’t know what games Glen Daly attended back in the day, but you and I sure care if we win lose or draw.  However, that is parked for tomorrow.  The league title is in the bag and during the game we can look forward to the trophy presentation, with a Scottish Cup Final to come.

St Johnstone need a win to save themselves from the consequences of making Craig Levein manager. Otherwise, Ross County will survive four months this season with Malky McKay in charge.  Not being up to task for County is, apparently, good enough for a top job at Hibs.

Tomorrow, St Mirren will surely be less intense than they usually are when visiting Celtic Park.   Early season form was enough to get them into a European qualification place, but they’ve won only once since 2 March and will surely want the door closed on the season.

Top of Brendan Rodgers’ priority list will be to have his squad in the best possible shape for next week’s cup final.  That could mean resting those carrying knocks and strains (Alistair Johnston), those just too valuable (Cameron Carter-Vickers), while fine-tuning the fitness of others (Reo Hatate, Callum McGregor).

The home crowd will say goodbye to Joe Hart and it’s possible a few others already know they are on their way this summer.  All deserve credit and appreciation for bringing home the gold and glory these past few years.

Remember, it’s a 12:30 kick off!

    Hi everyone.

It’s been a while since I posted on these pages. Was catching up on the posts over this brilliant week when I noticed a few folk commenting on not renewing the season tickets. Unfortunately, I won’t be renewing either. I missed too many games over the past couple of seasons for a variety of reasons and I don’t foresee those changing anytime soon so it’s difficult to justify the expense.

    …………..

IF you have NO ONE in mind to Transfer your season Book to, please consider ME…..especially if you are in the LOWER North Stand ?

    I know…Ive always been a bit of a Chancer….but if you don’t ask…you don’t get !

Anyone care to speculate who these few others might be?

I imagine a case can be made for sending a few out on loan.

Who might be sold is not clear to me at all.

    Hi Big Jimmy,

Sorry mate, too late. It was set up to renew automatically so I’ve had to send an email to inform them I won’t be renewing. I’ve also cancelled my direct debit in case they ‘forget’ to process it!

    TGSC,

    Sailing on….

Oh dear. Perhaps better to wait for more information to be made public (ie facts) before making character assassination assumptions.

Ticket farce continues, told of one bhoy who received no emails but went into the website regardless……and bought one!

    Didn’t happen to me , I checked 🙄

  8. With the exception of the 7-1 game, Celtic supporters had little choice but to support the team whether they won, lost or drew.

The teams of the 1953-66 period contained many fine players whose careers would have flourished if they had signed for other clubs.

Rangers were dominant during this period, sure, but Hearts, Kilmarnock and Dundee also won titles. When the prizes were handed out at the end of each season, one name was virtually always conspicuous by its absence and that name was Celtic’s. If there had been no change in 1965 Celtic’s whole future might have been in real doubt.

I see Clementine believes the will is there for a big rebuild.

Unfortunately for him, the money isn’t there.

  12. Time to celebrate it properly!!!

You have to hand it to paul67 – several times over the last 5 years +, he has laid out what he thought would happen to sevco – his byword was mediocrity. There was no sensationalism, he wasn’t baiting or trying to bait the deluded ones; he had a straightforward breakdown of the situation.

He’s got it absolutely spot on. An injury crisis, a new manager and the inability to properly bed in the project players meant we played poorly for the middle of the season. A consistently good team would have beaten us by 15 points this season.

But there’s only been one of them in Scotland the last 20 years – sevco didn’t bottle it or fall apart or screw up. They’re just not very good, mediocre in fact.

    Thank you paul67.

i seen a woman on twitter saying the same thing at the first ballot.

to be fair they arent really interested in how the small number of tickets that went to the hcts get dished out

they only care about fat cats and staff tickets.

and they will be dishing plenty out between them

  16. Not sure we’ll see too many changes and only those that are genuinely carrying knocks.

BR has spoken about sprinting across the finish line, he’ll want to carry momentum into next weekend. Plenty of goals and players brimming with confidence will have the Huns worried for Hampden.

    Well done, Brendan.

    -the preseason isn’t good enough

-Baldemort is used to having 90 % of players available 100 % of the time not 40 % of the people 50% of the time?

That’s one way of looking at it. Another is to give the likes of young Daniel Kelly etc some game time at home in front of a jubilant support. Some of the mainstays might still be a bit rough from their celebrations on Saturday night as well.

😂 I think a week of rest won’t do them much harm. Brendan will have them up for the final regardless.

Here’s hoping we’re celebrating a double come next Saturday night. 😃👍🏆🏆🍾🇮🇪⚽️🍀
