GORDON PAY RISE

COMEBACK Bhoy Craig Gordon has been rewarded by Celtic with a pay rise.
A wage clause was triggered in the keeper’s contract when he made his 50th appearance for the Hoops in Friday’s 5-0 win over Dundee.

Gordon joined the SPFL champions last summer after being out of football for two years with persistent injuries.

The club gave him an incentive-based deal with terms that incrementally improve.Gordon took over as first-choice keeper when Fraser Forster joined Southampton for £10million in August and has been a stand-out performer in domestic competition and Europe.

The 32-year-old’s heroics also earned him a Scotland recall from an impressed international boss Gordon Strachan.

Gordon is contracted until the end of next season, but the club is likely to activate their option to extend his stay by another 12 months.
