Every Celtic fan will be delighted Fraser Forster was included in the England World Cup squad. Fraser joined Celtic on loan four years ago, becoming a permanent member of staff in 2012. His transformation over that period has been remarkable, which is no fluke.
He is the most dedicated footballer at the club. First in each morning, around 2.5 hours before official start time, he’s also last out of Lennoxtown almost every day. He is possibly the most complete 365-day-a-year athlete we’ve ever had. This is a player who has set high personal achievement goals and has allowed no distractions to get in his way.
Enormous credit also has to go to the man who has guided him through his meteoric rise in recent seasons, goalkeeper coach Stevie Woods. Without the focus, technical development and remedial work Stevie has added to Fraser’s development we would not have nearly as effective a goalkeeper between the sticks.
It is never good to see anyone lose their job but surely the decision for Hearts to sack Gary Locke was one of the easiest to come out of Anne Budge’s 120 minute review (which was more productive than one 120 day review). Hearts early and late season form, where they comfortably recorded victories against most of their peer group, told a tale of what happened for six months of the season, when the team failed to show up.
Locke had the resources to keep his team in the league this season but found every excuse available to ensure they finished bottom.
I’m less sure Danny Lennon deserved to be hooked. The gap between St Mirren’s 8th placed finish with 39 points and Hibs on 35 points is narrow, but when he needed to dig deep, Lennon was not found wanting. St Mirren might not be so fortunate with their next guy.
Tommy Gemmell
We are going to have the one and only Tommy Gemmell on the blog on Friday afternoon between 13:00 and 16:00. He’ll be available to take your questions and talk about life, football and anything else you care to bring up. Tune in.
Issue 20 of CQN Magazine, CQLisboN, is out and enjoying great reviews. Click here to read for FREE.

Jfh,
I’m no doubting that bud.
I’m suggesting that everyone is a selling club if the price is right. You can count on 2 or 3 fingers the amount of players who are priceless.
fleshy orbs
sftb…. apparently not anybody’s auntie. Can that be directed at the board??
With regards to The Binman………
I find it astounding given his track rekord of success on….. “The Journey”………………. that his name has not been linked to any big money moves to the EPL……….
….perhaps Mr Van Gaal……… *cough* …
…is waiting till their tour of Bournemouth via Linfield is complete before tempting the tubbster to join him…?

It was a birthday party for my niece’s 2.year old laddie.
By the time we got there, about 4, the wee fella was in the Royal!!!
Fell and bumped his head!
He was brought home eventually and was fine.
It is the first sober Saturday I’ve had for some time!
Heard the hootenanny went well!
Geordie Munro. I agree every player has his price and we never know what will happen all part of the the excitement of football. H.H.

I see we would get rid of the nuclear facilities. I haven’t seen any ideas on how to replace the lost jobs.
*one of the local councillors in the Dumbarton/VOL area a prominent aye campaigner and advocate of getting rid of Trident has indicated that the base(s) would be the new home of the Scottish navy, so all jobs saved.
DONTBRATTBACKINANGER
Where’s that,then?
Burnley?
(St Swithins Day soon….)
Thanks all the same
But I just can’t bring myself to answer your letters
It’s not your fault
But your honesty touches me like a fire
The Polaroids that hold us together
Will surely fade away
Like the love that we spoke of forever

THE ONLY COMPANY WHO DID NOT PAY COMPENSATION FOR MISS- SELLING OF ENDOWMENT POLICIES.HOPE THEY DO A RANGERS
——————————-
A comment made out of pure ignorance
They had a full department dedicated to it for a number of years, and paid out a fortune
if you hope they ‘do a rangers’, what do you want to happen to the thousands of people they employ?
Stick to football, if you even know anything about that
Hello…….eh……whit………I’m on the train!!!
TONTINE TIM
Remember the effect on the locale when the US Navy left The Holy Loch.
It concerns me that similar would occur.
The counter-argument that I have heard personally from strong Independence campaigners is that the facilities will remain for ten years.
Really? So why tell us that a Yes vote means no more nuclear weapons on Scottish soil?
For me-and I genuinely do not want to open this site to more of yesterday’s circular regurgitation-it was yet more proof of the have yer cake and eat it approach while ignoring economic reality.
Pangloss would be in his element.

I sometimes miss your responses till it`s too late to respond, for which I must apologise.
Netherlands (tongue in cheek) weakest,eh?
Oz used to have at least 4 or 5 internationally recognised players.
Now it`s a squad of unrecognised players.
I`ll be watching the Mundial like my son at Jurassic Park.

I have just read your diatribe from last night and I will attempt to clear up a couple of points.
You accuse me of not willing to discuss the issues on Independence. You have been disingenuous a few times in your posts by asking for information and your response being to belittle the info provided: whereas it’s factual or not. You did this last night when I attempted to answer your question on defence. The info is in the public domain and if you really wanted it you can easily find it. Alternatively you can go to a Yes awareness meeting which are proving a massive success with most venues being packed out.
Regarding debate: please explain why the Yes voters must explain and provide a case for Independence and the the No voters just ask questions.
Apologies if I have missed it but I have yet to see someone on this site putting forward an economic case for retaining the status quo of a Westminster Government.
If you would answer this question, or even better, put forward the case I would definitely listen to what you had to say and I would respond in a courteous manner.
The last sentence leads me nicely on to your gripe with me regards Ernie.
You may have missed these bits but I have been called a liar, a coward and a halfwit by him. Do you seriously consider this is ok? I have also seen him issuing really nasty comments to a few others as well, usually the ones he calls Cyper Nats.
This is one of the reasons I bypass his blogs now. The other is,and I find this a bit strange, why so few pick him up on the following.
He asks questions often and usually gets answers. Yet, I have never seen him answer a question: particularly the one about if he is a member of a political party.
There are people on this site who know you and people who know me but Ernie keeps his identity secret, although he did make a mistake by once saying he didn’t have a vote then changing that statement. However in saying all that on Ernie I do remember in the distant past some blogger challenging him on staying in Croydon and being a pal of Gorgeous George Galloway: the catholic tim whilst in Scotland, and the Muslim whilst in London.
I have said before I have no desire to fall out with folk but I will never ever just sit here doing nothing whilst Scotland and its people are labelled horrible and bigoted.
I hope you take his blog in the spirit it
is intended and look forward to hearing from you.
