Great times for Celtic

822

It’s always encouraging to read positive comment on your club, so the positivity from a sports brand consultant at Brand Finance was welcome.  Apparently we are something of a commercial miracle, reaching parts no one else from a small country can come close to.

It’s also delightful hearing about glamour preseason friendlies (not quite announced yet, but coming).  We are a club with more than just history, we have a team the best in the world want to play.  We also have a future.

We have the league championship trophy in the boardroom, Champions League qualifiers to look forward to, and the sun is shining on Glasgow!

These are great times for Celtic.

  5. Morning,

Just been reading this post on RTC..

Regarding David Grier and when he knew about Ticketus..

One part of it struck me, and I am probably jumping to conclusions, but..

“It was at this point that we conducted discussions with Whyte and the old Rangers board. And there were tensions.

“At that time the outcome of the big tax case was still awaited. Basically, Rangers were saying that, if the big tax case went against them, there is no way the club could survive.”

“Was” still awaited? is it known now?

  6. Am I going nuts here or does donkeycaster think we are all stupid?

He claims in the Scotsman that the rules are applied without favour at the same time changing the rules looking for an 8-4 vote rather then the stipulated 10-2?

    Is it just me?

  7. I have just read the Grauniad report on the Scotland game.

    Oooft.

    Back to the cricket…

The fact that those dumb nut bigots didn’t delete that proves that satire is wasted on the brain dead.

  9. There is no agreement between D&P on behalf of RFC PLC (ia) and HMRC in respect of a CVA. That’s not what has been reported on BBC or ITV or C4. It’s complete BS.

But seriously .. they have had discussions. Wow.

“See that money we owe you? Will you settle?”

    “Naw.”

See .. we have had discussions.

Never mind football clubs. Which business in the country would pay its taxes in full if it knew that it could do a deal later to part-pay them?

Yes according to Charlie Farley Green he´s done a deal with HMRC.

Didn´t realise they worked on Sundays.

However strangely enough Fudd & Felps don´t agree with him.

More pie in the sky to laugh at

  11. Just been reading Dodds’ statement in the Herald re: EBTs, this bit caught my eye.

…”but I was shocked to hear that 87 players and staff were involved in the EBT scheme at Ibrox – but it should also be remembered that the trusts were not illegal.”

    Why is he shocked?

If they were “not illegal”, he should only be shocked to find that there was maybe an employee or 2 who were not on them, surely?

Was that appeal not already underway when CW took over?

If so then “at that time” means they were NOT still awaiting the outcome of the big tax case, surely?
