Great times for Celtic

822

It’s always encouraging to read positive comment on your club, so the positivity from a sports brand consultant at Brand Finance was welcome.  Apparently we are something of a commercial miracle, reaching parts no one else from a small country can come close to.

It’s also delightful hearing about glamour preseason friendlies (not quite announced yet, but coming).  We are a club with more than just history, we have a team the best in the world want to play.  We also have a future.

We have the league championship trophy in the boardroom, Champions League qualifiers to look forward to, and the sun is shining on Glasgow!

These are great times for Celtic.

  2. I think the thoughts on Barcabhoy are harsh. The guy appears to have a finger on the pulse and is well-respected. So what if it leads to speculation, it’s the close season anyway, and therefore the silly season, so there are rumours, counter-rumours and made up stuff and nonsense about a host of subjects in any other given year, so this year it’s about thems and more to come. The truth will out, and I suspect we will look back and acknowledge Barcabhoy’s crystal ball.

  3. When are those jokers at Duff and Phelps going to publicise the CVA proposal?

That will provide more entertainment. Even if we assume Green has £8.5m to stake against the £134m being claimed by creditors, that is less than 1p in the £ he can offer. Can’t see creditors voting for that.

I’m not sure that’s true. They had a do or die qualifier ,and he named the whole team apart from Aiden or Lawrence. He then went with Lawrence.

    Can’t remember the opponents.

I think the OTT reactions some people on here take and the choice of words they use to articulate that is whats harsh.

If some people on here disagree with a certain persons comment, sometimes its almost as if they are trying to issue an internet blog knock out with one comment instead of punch.

Not becoming of this site and a sad indictment on the characters of those who chose to do so

Not in any particular direction by the way – its just a recurring theme

One of the reasons i gravitate towards CQN is the “not just lazy journalism” standards that Paul has aspired to.

I thought Barcabhoy had posted his prediction on RTC not CQN or have I missed something?

We can hardly criticise him for his posts on other sites can we?

If we are to move on a society

then they need to admit their culpability

    and take the appropriate sanctions.

Salmond must ban these ridiculous marches.

Without that there can be no reconcilliation.

I remember, about ten years ago,I was going to my work on the Saturday before the twelfth. As I walked to the bus stop I passed a large group of young men, carry outs in bags, waiting at the corner of the Halfway library.Walking to the bus stop I passed by the biggest pile of dog pooh I’ve ever seen, still swear it must have been a donkey that left it.Then I realised what was happening. From the opposite side of the road came the Orange Walk.Sure enough as they turned onto the Main Street the excited crowd began to walk beside them, cans raised and songs singing, they marched. It then dawned on me that they were walking straight towards the pooh.Oh My God!Sure enough the first few managed to avoid it but the ones behind ploughed straight into it,the smell was horrific. One of the hardest things I’ve ever done was to keep a straight face at that moment,I’m sure my life depended on it.I would have loved to meet that dog and give it the biggest bone in the world.

Sitting in front of a roaring fire, drinking a nice bottle of kiwi sauvignon blanc in my back garden in G73. Celtic are champions, the huns drowning in a sea of scandel an debt. Life doesn’t get much better than this.

The stories on here the last couple of days and basically most of the time (funnily enough these other stories are usually when theres been a tipple or two) have been inspirational, emotional and all round outstanding, i wasn’t born for the fantastic night of the 25th May 1967 but after reading some of the stories I felt like I was there. I’m sure we all have outstanding and interesting tales to tell of our joy In supporting Glasgow Celtic,

  15. TinyTim

I’m not sure on that. Paul has by and large kept up with that ethos, while all Barcabhoy is doing is the equivalent of a movie trailer. It’s posters on here, and elsehwere who are speculating, and I believe for a bit of fun. I haven’t seen anyone claim to know the truth definitively, so all I am witnessing is harmless guesswork, much in the way that we put forward transfer thoughts and rumours without harming the blog.

I, to my shame, voted SNP once after hearing Slamond’s speech to the Catholic Headteachers’s conference in Stirling a few years ago. He proclaimed that Catholic schools were and should remain a mainstay of Scotland.

I was naive and will never vote for them again.

  17. Don’t know what the big secret is regarding Barcabhoy

From reading RTC it’s obvious it over kickbacks over transfer fees

This is not cheating it’s criminal law and jail time. Hence the hint to leave the country

Hope murray and wattie enjoy south America

I absolutely agree but I don’t think Salmond has the bottle to do it. I’ve come to the conclusion that before he ever had any power in Scotland he courted people in positions of authority, like the Cardinal to gain support. Now he has the power, he hasn’t got the bottle to do what we all know must be done.

That was then…this is now.In competitive games,Aiden is the first name on his team-sheet,and Trapattoni is old skool Italian, not renowned for selecting flair players.

Seriously mate, don’t know if ye watched the game today…but Aiden’s performance was the best that i have seen from any player this year.He was a 2nd half substitute, yet he was still named MOM.

Ya wanna seen this – right foot, left foot..you name it.A great footballing brain as well he has.

TinyTim,nobody was expecting too much from Ireland in Euro 2012 tbh,but see after that McGeady show – this country is buzzin’ about it.

Ps How many Celtic tops were in that crowd today? Folk speak about Manchester United,Liverpool etc. as being the best supported teams in Ireland, but there is only one club team in the world whos tops on on display at Ireland games, and it’s not MUFC or LFC! ;)

Sorry, posted that without finishing It, and I was nearly done aswell. The end went along the lines of. It’s great to hear these stories, just so that we can feel that experience and pleasure that those who were around will never forget. They should be stored away somewhere for future generations to experience aswell though.

Not sure how long you have been reading this blog – but it goes way back.

    Its not necessary.

Especially considering the fact that 99% of us come on here because of the difference of opinion, personalities and ideologies.

The same people who condemn folk for disagreeing with them should stop and consider whether or not they would even log on to this blog, if they knew everyone on it was in 100% agreement on every single subject, topic and issue.
