GREAT TO BE BACK,’ MULGREW

COMEBACK Bhoy Charlie Mulgrew has set his sights on making up for lost time and has his eyes on a domestic double.
The versatile Celtic star was delighted to start the weekend’s 2-0 Scottish Cup win over East Kilbride after being sidelined since November 26 with a thigh injury.unspecified-2
Mulgrew, 29, has made only 10 appearances this season and hopes to make the most of the remainder of the campaign to earn a contract extension.
The Scottish international is determined to play his part and told Celtic TV: “It’s good to be back, I felt well and I had already played half of a practice match.

“I have been involved in another 45 minutes of a reserve match and got 70/75 minutes against East Kilbride. So, I am delighted to be back.

“All the time I am focused on the end goal and that’s getting fit and I try to think positive.

“I don’t want to look back, I had the disappointment, but I am being positive and looking to do my training. Thankfully. I am back now.”

Ronny Deila declared himself “satisfied” with Mulgrew’s display against the non-league outfit at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium in heavy overhead conditions on a tricky artificial surface.

The player is likely to be included in his squad for the ‘revenge mission’ against League Cup conquerors Ross County at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon.
