Some weeks ago I received a painting of Neil Lennon in the post from US based artist, Joseph Gormley. We put it onto eBay this week to get our launch our 2012 charity fundraising efforts. As well as a couple of local charities we will again donate to the Martin Chambers Ecuador Trust and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. After so many Celtic fans have been touched by three kids, Oscar, Niamh and Vanessa, this year we added The Neuroblastoma Alliance who do research work into the childhood cancer.
The auction raised an incredible £5000. When I contacted the winning bidder and discussed some of the stories behind the beneficiaries I had to insist he took the painting, he was so affected he wanted to return it for another auction to raise more money. Joseph Gormley was so inspired by the success of the auction he has already offered to paint other subjects for us and I have a jersey signed by the Seville team in the pipeline.
So, if you were one of those who bid an incredible amount but were pipped at the post (and there were a few in this category), there will be another chance soon.
Running this blog gives me the privilege of witnessing so many great works, most of which come with the request of anonymity. It’s a real honour.
Well done and thank you.

Just put snyde on, got to better than the london derby.
The weather here in the Port is teasing, a summers day at the back at times, and winter out the front. Got rained off on Thursday night but I managed to strim half the grass. It looks mental.

A most excellent summary and well worth the Saturday morning spent on it. Covers all the angles.
My thinking is that Rangers best hope of survival is true liquidation. That is the let go of everything including Ibrox and attempt to set up a brand new club renting a stadium and apply to join SFL. They must have the benefit of having what 10,000 supporters who will commit to SBs at half the current ticket price.
At the end of the day the only value they have is the number of folk who will turn out to watch them and whilst that will be diminished by events it is the one thing that is transferable free of rules and litigation.

Morning All,
Thought I’d scribble down my thoughts on the proposal of ‘Wild’ Bill Miller to buy Rangers. I see, having done so, it is now the Afternoon, but I trust you all

Excellent breakdown of millers off and implications and complications facing him.
really enjoyed that, great post.

Paul67 – Excellent effort with the Charity giving,s – hope theres no tax avoidance involved – only kidding.
Charity Giving – if that other mob, go into Liquidation early next week – they will owe Celtic in excess of £350k – if such happens, Celtic should immediately announce their tickets for next Sunday are null and void, they can claim money back from the administrators.
Celtic then sell they full allocation back to our own, for a full blown “Jelly and Ice Cream” day out

Excellent work, Mr Bunnet.
If we as a club insisted on money up front the last time the huns came to visit, surely we will have done so this time too?
Just read Alex Thomson’s blog, he has nailed the issue to a T.
I have always believed individual souls given the opportunity for good, will embrace the potential for good. The catalyst required for this wave of good is a platform, or organization for those to congregate and share ideas. CQN has become that platform for many of us. I predict ever increasing growth and interest in your brainchild Paul.
The final ingredient in the aforementioned formula is a leader. I sense a reluctance to accept the credit for your works, but you Paul are that leader. Take a bow, or perhaps a huddle in your honour would be more appropriate.
In time to come, may I make a suggestion? How about a wider encompassing “CQN Foundation”? I am sure there are many that have the professional nous to make this happen. Auldheid, Mort, Ernie Lynch, Awe_Naw and others would seem to have the relevant wisdom and knowledge. Apologies in advance for the liberty of using the above names.
Thanks PFayr …….. There is no way liquidation is avoidable here …..and that’s all to the good…..

Agree with you 100%.The thing about Rangers fans is that they are blinded by their arrogance. There’s disaster staring them in the face but they avoid reality
They won’t even listen to their own

Anybody else just waste 90 minutes watching that EPL dross, I can only hope El Classico is not overshadowed by the CL semi`s in midweek. It`s a long weekend until we play tomorrow, so hoping Barca can light up the screen.
IMO I see a high scoring draw , 3-3.

No rush whenever you get time thanks, I’m only 5 weeks into my rotation so I’m not home for another 7 weeks. 4 miles north of Dunrobin is Paradise! HH

Difference this time is that the admins are personally liable for any new contracts they undertake once the comp is in administration. Celtic will their money either by Rangers or from Duff and Phelps.
RFC should also have about £500k left in bank accounts so should be good until next payday.

Would rather they were not at our Ground next week, due to Liquidation

Same difference. D&P entered into contract and will be liable for costs.
Mort
Paul,
The honour you speak of is a very shared commodity.
I cannot think of any other person who epitomises the Celtic family better than yourself.
