COVID-RAVAGED St Mirren WILL go ahead with the Celtic’s Premiership visit to Paisley tomorrow night.

Jim Goodwin has a dozen players missing as the pandemic rips through his squad, but the club have not requested to have the match postponed.

However, they have received special dispensation from the SPFL to recall four youngsters currently on loan at Lowland League teams to make up the numbers.

Training was suspended last week with players forced to self-isolate with a member of Goodwin’s coaching staff also affected.

Goodwin has been left with 10 outfield first-team squad players and three goalkeepers available for the encounter against Ange Postecoglou’s Premier Sports League Cup winners, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.

The Saints are toiling and have not won in their last nine league outings and were hammered 6-0 when they took on the Hoops at Parkhead on August 21.

David Turnbull thumped his first senior hat-trick behind keeper Jak Alnwick that day, but the Scotland international midfielder won’t be fit for this one after limping off in the 27th minute in the 2-1 victory over Hibs at Hampden on Sunday.
