GUSTAF LAGERBIELKE is on the brink of a loan move to Serie A outfit Lecce.
The Swedish central defender has failed to convince Brendan Rodgers since his £3million arrival from Elfsborg in the summer.
The champions are keen for the international to get game-time which is ulikely at Parkhead with Cameron Carter-Vickers coming back to full fitness after his muscular problems and the emergence of Liam Scales.
Maik Nawrocki was also recruited at £4.3million from Legia Warsaw and the German-born former Polish Under-21 centre-back is now delivering the sort of performances that tempted the Hoops to pay big money in July.
HEADING FOR THE EXIT…Gustaf Lagerbielke rises above St Mirren’s Alex Gogic to clear in Celtic’s 3-0 win in Paisley at the start of the month.
Plus ex-Scotland Under-21 international skipper Stephen Welsh is also vying for a place in the back four which has pushed Lagerbielke further down the pecking order.
Lecce have now moved ahead of Italian rivals Genoa and Hellas Verona in the pursuit of the 23-year-old left-sided back-four operator, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.
Also heading out is Yuki Kobayashi who was signed a year ago as a free agent from J-League club Vissel Kobe.
The Japanese defender, who agreed a five-year deal when he joined, hasn’t figured in the first team this season and has emerged as a target for MLS pair Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas with the American transfer window due to open tomorrow.
