CELTIC are stepping up their move for Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh.
The 25-year-old Danish international hitman was on the Hoops’ radar during the January window, but the Norwegian club snubbed all interest as they continued their Champions League adventure.
Hogh played his role in the team’s exploits in Europe’s elite competition with goals against Manchester City, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Sporting Lisbon as Bodo reached the quarter-finals.
Overall, the 6ft-plus frontman netted 15 goals in 30 appearances for the club last season.
ON HIS WAY…reports indicate Danish international striker Kasper Hogh is Celtic-bound.
Martin O’Neill side are in pole position to sign the £7million-rated forward, according to Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio who revealed: “Yes, I think Kasper Hogh WILL move to Celtic.
“It’s not because they necessarily have a deal ready already, but it definitely looks like there’s a really big possibility that he’ll move to Celtic.
“It is absolutely correct that Celtic and Bodo/Glimt are in contact with each other and over the next few days we will find out whether they can land a deal.”
Hogh still has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal.
Norwich City, managed by former Ibrox boss Philippe Clement, were also interested in the raider at the turn of the year and reportedly made an offer of £6.9million for the player.
They were given no encouragement, but the indications are that the Scottish champions will get the green light very soon.
