GREEN LIGHT FOR JURANOVIC

CROATIAN international right-back Josip Juranovic has agreed personal terms with Celtic and will seal his £2.5million move from Legia Warsaw on Friday.

The defender impressed Ange Postecoglou when he watched him star for his country in their 3-1 Euros win over Scotland at Hampden in June and the new Hoops boss added him to his wanted list, as CQN reported last week.

Juranovic’s club gaffer at Legia Warsaw, Czeslaw Michniewicz, has revealed the deal is just about over the line, but the back-four operator may still turn out for the Poles in their Euro tie against Slavia Prague tomorrow night before jetting into Glasgow the following day.

GLASGOW BELONGS TO ME…Josip Juranovic prepares to congratulate Croatian captain Luka Modric after the first of his two goals in the 3-1 Euros win over Scotland at Hampden in June.

The player will be signed before the Saturday afternoon home Premiership encounter against St Mirren, but is unlikely to be rushed into the first team and he is ineligible for the return against AZ Alkmaar a week tomorrow.

Juranovic could make his first appearance for the Hoops in the opening Glasgow derby of the campaign at Ibrox on Sunday August 29.

Legia gaffer Michniewicz, speaking in the Daily Record, admitted: “I’m not surprised he’s going. Jura is a very good player, but it’s sad that it will go away.”
