Green, Murray and transubstantiation

1011

You couldn’t script that lot.  Charles-this is probably the worst Rangers team you have ever seen-Green is back, like a dose of something you never wanted first time around, appointed late on the day Rangers International receive a request for an Emergency General Meeting from rebel (hmm) shareholders.  The reason given to the Stock Market for his appointment was nothing to do with the EGM request, so don’t go implying it was a reactionary panic measure.

And who is behind the EGM request?  None other than Paul Murray, one of the few responsible for ensuring that Rangers FC (in liquidation) ran their affairs in good order.  His credentials for the position of Ibrox powerbroker are impeccable.

Before the news of the EGM was released, the Herald suggested, “Some informed sources believe the club will run out of money during this season”, as the Celtic online community has been asserting since their interims were published.

And yes, you noticed the transubstantiation from club to company.  I think it goes:

A club will run out of money.
A company ran out of money.

Keep the league flag flying high.

  1. Given that TFPLG has a s**t load of shares and a mega contract perhaps he is positioning himself so the board have no other option than sack him. This will mean they will have to give him a massive pay off, he unloaded his shares and all this before the bailiffs coming knocking for a second time at the asbestos dome.

Efe is an outstanding fitba player, he is still young, able to switch from full back to centre back also indicates a clever brain, Mikael isn’t too bad a play either and can easily switch, Muldini is no bad either och I could go on and on… Dortmund and Bayern watch oot

One of the few times I’ve watched a Sevco game and I was appalled at Mulletwell’s approach, my best Mate is a ‘Well fan and I asked him about it after the game, he just hung his head in shame mumbling incoherently!!

Difference is I’ll be back on Wednesday and probably won’t miss a game again for the rest of the season. I honestly don’t know how you guys do it.

Thought we looked like a different team with the new guy on the left. Not only does he look like a player, but he linked up well with EI, plus, because the defence couldn’t shift over/double up on JF, he made space for the guys in the middle, and even JF on the right.

    Some thoughts…

where does he fit in when GS is fit?

Against teams like RC, I would like to see Efe and JL in the centre of the park. I know SB does a lot of the ‘dirty work’ but we still need a bit more offence from the middle, which SB doesn’t give as much. For Euro games, where our backs are against the wall, SB is invaluable…. but not sure that he adds much/we need him for SPL games where we dominate possession the way we do (as he doesn’t really do much by way of turning possession into chances).

If we keep playing like we did in the first half, I think a striker like Finbog would score a barrowload.

Mind you… In the past, I think AS has gotten into the habit of dropping so deep because the midfield weren’t creating many chances for him…. If he realizes that this team will create chances (and if they keep playing like today, they will create more chances than the last few seasons for sure), and he stays in/around the box, he could score a s**tload this year.

Today’s game shows the risk of losing an early goal to SPL teams, but even so we persevered, didn’t let the frustration get to us and were determined to win. Which we did. Great to see Anthony Stokes get off the mark early in the season, the winner was a terrific move, Efe accelerating out of his own half into space, forward ball to Commons, finds Stokesy and Stokesy finds the net. Brilliant! Good efforts from everybody really,

What I liked about EFE today was his drive in the last few minutes to get the ball forward so we could get all three points, this team will grow again this season and I think we’re not finished yet in the transfer windae..

I just finished a job for another artist, six weeks in the making, glad about that the Francs will come in handy, family off to Japan in two weeks, I’m alone in the valley six months so things are good…

How about you, long time no see..

  12. Speaking after the loss at Station Park, McCoist said, when asked for his thoughts on Green’s remarks, “I was appalled by them to be quite honest with you.

“The self-acclaimed, straight-talking Yorkshireman has again let himself down.

“His contempt and total lack of respect for my players, for our football club, for our support and Scottish football in general is appalling — and he is an embarrassment.”

On Green’s cup claims, McCoist added: “If it was a threat then the self-acclaimed, straight-talking Yorkshireman should know that boys from the West of Scotland don’t scare easily.

“If he does come back, I’ll certainly go and pick him at the airport. I won’t have a problem doing that.

“It’s just more hot air that we’ve come to expect from Charles.”

Green quit as chief executive in April but, in a statement to the London Stock Exchange on Friday, the club confirmed his return as a consultant.

And McCoist, who was unhappy with Green branding his players “the worst Rangers team ever” last season, made it clear he did not welcome the Yorkshireman’s return.

He said: “After I’ve given him that endorsement it would be crazy of me to say ‘welcome back Charles’.

“I’ve got to be careful because Forfar deserved their win and well done to Dick Campbell and his players.

“But our players picked up the newspaper at breakfast to be reminded they’re the worst team in Rangers’ history.

“I’ll tell you, that would be bad luck — to have the worst Rangers team in history and the worst chief executive in history at the same time. That’s downright bad luck.

“Instead of concentrating on the match, their minds are elsewhere and they’re worrying about their jobs. Because, let’s face it, if he’s said we don’t win a cup and we go, then some of the players would be under threat too.

“As team-talks go, I don’t think it was one of Charles’ best.”

The match was played against a backdrop of fresh off-field turmoil, with a group of shareholders aiming to see the removal of key board members, including new chief executive Craig Mather.

McCoist said: “That’s something I can’t legislate for and don’t have any control over.

“What I can say is that the current chief executive has backed us with players coming in, absolutely.

“Craig Mather has been shoulder-to-shoulder with us, which is something Charles seems to have taken umbrage to.

“Let’s be honest about it, I don’t think it’s surprising that we’re probably at our most vulnerable and weakest because we can’t play our new signings [due to a transfer embargo].

“That’s when Charles has surfaced and the biggest thing of the lot is that he’s turned up after 34,000 fans have bought season tickets.

    “Coincidence? Perhaps not.”

  13. Sally is a sleekit wee so and so.

I had thought of them as well…. but, they are both in decent positions where they are …. and, although they may never admit it publicly, even they must question whether a second administration is looming … as much as McCall is an orc, would his loyalty (which we know extends to making sure his team lies down whenever playing rankers or sevco) extend to taking on a job which may only exist for a few more months? I’m not sure about that…

With Celtic playing in Sweden and then Dublin, (which is hopefully Green and White), Aberdeen have the chance to be above Celtic before playing them in a couple of weeks. Would like to see them playing consistently for the first time in a while. As for us, another good finisher and we are close to being a good team, a good team indeed.
