There are so many plot lines in the epic story that Scottish football has become it’s easy to lose track, especially when the chief executive of the SPL insists that he still doesn’t know if Rangers have a case to answer in connection with improperly registered football players – a completely untenable position on week 11 of the inquiry.
He should know. If he doesn’t, he should resign and allow someone else to pick up the baton.
While this drama has dominated headlines the important storyline happened off-stage. 11 days ago the Blue Knights consortium, fully aware of how time-critical events were, said their accountants needed to be place at 9am on Saturday 12 May for Rangers to achieve a CVA. Even more importantly, they also said that a Newco would not work.
If the Blue Knights men were in place on 12 May creditors could have voted on a CVA this time next week. As it is, creditors still have nothing to vote on, the prospective buyer has not been able to put a deal to them.
Green’s failure to produce an offer since being appointed nine days ago, alongside missing his own deadline to announce a creditor’s meeting on 6 June, are the most important acts in this month’s play, so far. He has to find funders who are able to see a return on investment which Paul Murray and Brian Kennedy tell us does not exist. It’s worth noting that both of these men will be far closer to the financial realities of running Rangers than anyone Green will find in Bangalore.
Unless a consortium can be pulled together that will offer money for the assets of Rangers FC, the company will expire next week when it runs out of money. No CVA, no Newco, no matter what Neil Doncaster does.
Don’t be surprised if Mr Green walks away soon.

Been a long time .
With the exception of the amusing country pastiche , i thought it was dross but I liked the —- ” Take me for a ride on your massive swirling shit” line.
NEIL Lennon will take a squad that has a mix of youth and experience to face Norwich City in the Adam Drury Testimonial tonight (Tuesday).
First-team players Fraser Forster, Gary Hooper, Anthony Stokes, Kris Commons, Kelvin Wilson and Paddy McCourt are set for the game at Carrow Road (KO: 7.45pm), while Dylan McGeouch, Rabiu Ibrahim and Tony Watt, who recently made a goalscoring first-team debut for the Hoops is also in the squad, along with Under-19 goalkeeper, Robbie Thomson.
And there´s a great boost for the Celtic Youth Academy, with a number of Under-17 players travelling down to face the English Premier League side. Stuart Findlay, Lewis Kidd, Jamie Lindsay, Denny Johnstone and Paddy McNally are all with the first-team squad for the game.
It´s a further sign of the strenght-in-depth coming through the Academy, and Neil Lennon showed last season that he is prepared to give the young players a chance in the first team, with Paul George, Marcus Fraser, Dylan McGeouch, Flip Twardzik and Tony Watt all making their first-team debuts.

They are independent and not officials of our great club. Once we KNOW if there actually will be a Newclub and the intentions of the SPL, that is the time for the club to speak out.
Giving a response of “mibbees aye, mibbes naw” is pointless and just gives the clubs enemies ammunition.
Awe Naw – beat me to it! Robbise Savage, is quite good!
Adam Drury is currently tweeting about the amount of Celtic Fans in Norwich just now think he is a tad pleased at the numbers that have turned up!
On another note what time is thee documentary on and is it tomorrow?

This self same discussion was held on CQNabout two weeks ago and the consensus changed from your stance to a stance that we can actually say something to our own without getting involved a heads up so to speak…. and guess what …. Peter Lawwell spoke out.
You should have a wee word with him or keep up ;-)

Sof Tunis – the problem with comedy records is how quickly they lose their comedic values. Notable exceptions are the’ Intro and the Outro’ by the Bonzos, ‘Don’t Touch me There’ by the Tubes, and War Pigs by the Sabs.

You are rapidly approaching FUD status…..to be so naive as to why Celtic are monitoring developments, and not ‘shouting their mouths off’ publicly, is, quite frankly, astounding, I’m afraid…..

I’m working while it is on.
That means incessant texts with updates,a few hours reading back on here about it,and finally a very pleasant hour watching the recording as I nuzzle up to a few beers.
Kinda similar to having no sense of humour and laughing at a joke three times-once when you’re told it and everyone else laughs;again, later, when someone explains it to you;and finally when you get it yourself. Works for me……..
BMCUW-I think that was a compliment :} ,business a bit slow mate.
Kevjungle-you just signed off, will reply when I see you back on HH.
Silver City,
I understand Neil will be ceasing to use his Twitter account.
Sad to say.

It tis indeed an awesome name for a knight but does not come close to ” Ulrich von Lichtenstein”.
Like someone else mentioned earlier, it was my son’s reaction to me possibly not renewing our season tickets that made me definitely renew them.
He’s 17 and says his first real memory of being a celtic fan is watching Seville on tv and seeing me break my heart greeting. He says thats the first time he really realised what celtic meant to me.
We’ve now been going to games together for years. I’m proud of the man and celtic fan he has become because of my love for celtic. He wants to renew, so we will renew. Simples.
We just moved into the lounge this year. So what’s this about it being more expensive than buying individual tickets? Doesn’t seem fair.
PL might nip into Ipswich en route to do a deal for Murphy hopefully.

THE chief executive of Celtic FC has said the FAI has “no grounds” for refusing to sanction a top pre-season soccer tournament in Thomond Park this summer.
As revealed in the Limerick Leader last week, the FAI refused to sanction a lucrative tournament in the stadium that was to feature Champions League winners Chelsea, Celtic and two other leading European teams, on the grounds that they have their own tournament planned in Dublin.
“I don’t know on what grounds they could say no,” the Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell said over the weekend.
“We are hopeful that the FAI can approve it and our advice is that they don’t really have any grounds not to approve it,” he said.
The FAI, who refused to comment, claimed in February to have an agreement in place with Iconic Worldwide Events to run a Dublin event.
Ennis businessman Damien O’Brien, who runs the company, has denied having such an agreement and said that he is instead trying to bring it to Limerick, claiming to have a four-year television deal already in place.
“I am trying to bring a tournament to Thomond Park because I have no agreement to take anything to the Aviva, which is an expensive stadium to hire and run,” he said.
Thomond Park boss John Cantwell said last week: “We received an offer from a leading promoter to hold a tournament with some big teams including Chelsea and Celtic and some European teams”.
“We obviously put in a request to the FAI, because we can’t hold it without sanction from them, but that hasn’t been forthcoming. The reason being given is that they have an alternative, another tournament planned for the same period,” he added.

New start-ups generally take a bit of time;I dunno which line you went into, but you have a few thousand prospective customers reading your words daily.
They don’t know which business you are in either,or how that might be of benefit to them….
Just stuck a few quid on Ian Holloway for Villa manager,25/1 might be the man they are looking for.Not a tip bhoys,just bored :}

BMCUW-Fire Risk Assessment mate. The law says a place of business must have one.Your insurance will most likely be null and void, if in the event of a fire you don’t possess one.Plus you might be liable if anyone is injured .Thanks for asking,HH.
IF we end up with the huns in the SPL next season would it, at that stage, be appropriate to speculate on whether there would have been a different outcome if Celtic fans had delayed renewing until the outcome was clear?
Just read (via BBJ on twitter) that the game is live tonight on Premier Sports (sky Channel 433).
That reminded me that i paid a subscription to that months back and have never cancelled it!!
Oh well at least i’ll get to watch the game tonight.
