Greg and Daizen taking time

196

Greg Taylor has earned the right to take time before deciding what is best for him and his young family.  At 27, his next contract will significantly determine his wealth and lifestyle after football.  A few years on a higher salary, paying lower taxes, could see him enjoy better things in the years ahead.  Working in the sun is not for us all, though.

Daizen Maeda is also entitled to take time to consider his future.  He has two years left on a Celtic contract and an offer before him which is significantly better than the one Greg has from Celtic.  The Japanese and Korean contingent at Celtic has been getting smaller in recent times, Daizen’s ties here are sparce.  All we can offer is hard cash (before 48% tax – it’s always an issue for footballers) and the prospect of Champions League glory nights.

It would be an enormous boost if he signed a new deal, and for some of us, a surprise.

  1. huge mistake from spurs to sack a trophy winning manager.

ange will go do it again somewhere else .

not many managers won titles in 3 countries. a european trophy and with a national team

  2. Prestonpans bhoys on

First trophy in 17 years? And a European one at that, then sack the manager!

As toxic as the huns, no good manager, with sence , would touch them.

  3. Happy ange gets a major pay day and doesn’t need to put up with spursy mindset. He deserves better and will find a better fit.

I’m in the Algarve at the moment, mates golfing last week and lazing by the pool with the wife this week. In general I never see hun strip out here unless in those sorts of pubs, but I never am. However we did see 6 tims in Armacao for the champions league final. They were English which I love.

Does the sacking of Ange mean Spurs bosses

are moving at Celtic board speed?

  8. Don’t care about Ange…….he sacked Celtic and their fans without a care….whats good for the goose and all that…at least he’ll leave with his pockets well lined….boohoo…

  9. Ange was a failure at Spurs….weakest Europa league ever….one place off relegation…..and abandoned his all out attack …all out press …that he said he’d never change….and it went further downhill because he only knew how to play that style…he bowed to his critics…not a good sign at all….

See the union loving guys on here, can you explain why the british government allow an England and Wales footballing cartel to exist within britian by allowing footballing bodies to dictate that clubs from scotland as an example cant play in said leagues but demand we pay tax and NI to hmrc.

Regardless of the nonsense about footballing associations etc the simple fact is no business outwith sports in britian would be expected to tolerate those conditions.

The 1707 act of union was designed by the powerful English to serve the powerful english. The union and by extension the empire was the was the worst thing that happened to the world and it’s harm is still evident throughout the modern world.

  12. Anyone slagging Adam Idah for lack of goals/effort should maybe have a wee look at themselves…maybe if we abandoned the constant play through the middle/non crossing from the wings, Adam might score double….If Maeda is played through the middle then by all means follow that philosophy…if Adam is in there he’ll do MUCH more damage and score more goals from crosses..and early crosses from the wings…what he doesn’t convert can be picked up by our midfielders…Our opposition love knowing how we play before a ball is kicked…mix it up Brendan…mix it up..

  13. Playing out from the back is easy playing against a low block…much more difficult against a high press….long balls out have at least a 50/50 chance of landing with a Celtic midfielder…high pressing teams love knowing how Celtic are going to play before a ball is kicked….mix it up Brendan…mix it up…

  14. I’ve no doubt…more crosses by us in the final with Adam playing up front would have resulted in an easy win for us…

There may be trouble ahead(well ripping off/backstabbing/internecine fighting at best:-)))

Well, it appears to be the case there will be no mandatory Rule 9 offer to the thousands of long suffering Rangers shareholders who’ve lost their AIM listing and now their exit route. This is because changes to the UK Takeover Code which took effect in February, has removed the requirement for overseas controlled boards to make an offer when they acquire a shareholding of more than 29.9%.

When you then consider it’s unconfirmed who ultimately controls Rangers FC, what price they paid for that privilege and whether they intend to give the thousands of other shareholders the same offer which King and Bennett took advantage of, you end up with a malodorous smelling shafting of sorts.

It’s my understanding The Takeover Panel has asked the RIFC board of directors to clarify their position. 💩

The union benefitted lots of rich folk, I’ll give you that, but scottish Lords were not always scottish or in any traditional way lords. rich folk looking after their own interests
