GRIFFITHS ON WAY BACK

LEIGH GRIFFITHS is gearing up for a comeback after sitting out the whole of February.
The striker has been sidelined after sustaining a calf injury following his winner against Hibs at Parkhead on January 27.

Griffiths consulted a specialist this week, as CQN reported on Wednesday, to assess the problem which has hampered his progress over the last 15 months.

The Scotland international scored the points-clinchers against Partick Thistle and Neil Lennon’s side before the recurrence of the injury.

But he has returned to light training as he attempts to get back to match sharpness for the crucial run-in to the campaign.
Brendan Rodgers’ worries look to be easing with Tom Rogic featuring in the last three outings and Patrick Roberts and Marvin Compper, still waiting to make his debut, in contention for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup quarter-final against Morton.
