They obviously want to maintain their big pay day.
However, UEFA should be asking some pointed questions of Linfield and the PNSI.
Are they unable to safely conduct a CL game in safety?
Can they guarantee the safe passage of Celtic players, officials and fans?
If the answer is “No” to either question, then the match needs to be awarded to Celtic and Linfield, the NIFA must be fined and forced to play International games away from home.

I posted more than a year ago that James Forrest – the blogger – and others were pissing in the wind with their constant claims that Sevco were days or weeks away from going under. James ridiculed my comment as “pure fantasy” and suggested I should “get real”. As we head into a new season, with Sevco recruiting a new team and a new Director of Football, I for one have no fear of them posing any sort of threat to 7 in a row. However, I note that their recruitment is now being described by the usual suspects as unsustainable.
This time next year, I guarantee they’ll be recruiting to stop 8 in a row.

Celtic are poised to run fresh checks on £1.5million Serbian winger Srdjan Plavsic.
As Sportsmail first revealed, the 21-year-old Red Star Belgrade wide man has already caught the attention of the Parkhead club.
And head of recruitment Lee Congerton plans to fly to Poland to watch the Serbian Under-21 international in European Championship action against Spain on Friday night.
Nicknamed the ‘Atomic Ant’, Plavsic has also been linked with Swiss club Basel and Celtic’s pre-season opponents Sparta Prague.
One of a number of options on a list of potential replacements for Patrick Roberts after the loan star’s return to Manchester City, Celtic have already watched 5ft 5in Plavsic in Serbian league action against Partizan and Cukaricki.
And the former Vojvodina youth protege expects to move abroad when Serbia’s European Under-21 campaign comes to an end.
‘I am ready now,’ he told Serbian media. ‘There were stories I might go in January, but I did not want to go.

My thoughts on Sevco latest recruitment is that it’s almost certainly been funded by season ticket money. That’ll be ok short term, very short term, and undoubtedly soft loans will be required by the turn of the year.
Assuming they operate like that, fine, for a limited period.
There has to be a point in time though whereby the loanees call enough. It’s at that point it’ll need heavy investment.
When that point arrives is anyone’s guess. Depends on the investors currently putting in the loans. This year? 2018?
Something has to give when others decide not to give!

Sevco’ recruitment is being rushed through in the vain hope the new players can hit the ground running and help them qualify for EL group stages. Wit the help of a compliant MSM it also gives the impression of King splashing the cash, war chests and backing the manager. The ST money is being used short term but ultimately the new recruits will be funded from player sales, the majority of which won’t happen until towards the end of the window. Some big earners from last season are already off the books, expect many more ‘undisclosed fees’ over the coming two months.
