‘GUIDETTI COULD STILL STAY,’ SAYS HOOPS BOSS

RONNY DEILA has knocked back reports on-loan striker John Guidetti wants to return to Feyenoord – and insists he could stay on at Celtic .

The Parkhead gaffer is adamant Guidetti’s future is still undecided despite speculation last week linking him with the Dutch club where he has already spent a year on loan in the past. The Swedish striker, who will quit Manchester City at the end of his contract in the summer, will have his pick of clubs.

However, Deila still wants the 22-year-old to remain at Parkhead next term and revealed Guidetti has been left upset at false rumours linking him with a move away from the club.

The Norwegian said: “John has been totally misunderstood. He is very happy at Celtic and it’s possible he’ll be here next season. John needs a home and that should be at Celtic.”

Meanwhile, Virgil Van Dijk has been accused of being a bad sport for refusing to shake Steven Anderson’s hand after St Johnstone’s midweek win.

Anderson said: “Virgil was disappointed, but I believe in sportsmanship and would have shaken his hand if we’d lost.”

But a Celtic spokesman last night said the claim was “rubbish” and that a disappointed Van Dijk just wanted off the park as fast as he could.
