I see the story that Feyenoord are chasing John Guidetti has lasted more days than I expected. John Guidetti is a likeable guy and seems to have enjoyed his time at Celtic, but he desperately needs to show some form before the end of the season if he is to attract the attention of Feyenoord or any team of that calibre.
One aspect often overlooked about Guidetti is his inexperience. The player is still only 22 and had started only 30 games before arriving at Celtic Park last season, there’s a good chance that by the end of the season he will have played more games for Celtic than anyone else. On paper, a season at Celtic was a chance to sort his career out, grab first team football at a prestigious club who were short of a centre forward. Conversely, being kept out of the team by Leigh Griffiths will damage his reputation.
Barcabhoy sent me an interesting summary of Celtic’s material loss since the liquidation of Rangers. The figures below compare the three years before Rangers liquidation with the two and a half years since.
As you see, even though we are comparing a shorter time period after liquidation, Celtic’s turnover and profitability is still miles better than when we had to compete with Rangers.
This should end any nonsense about Celtic needing or in any way missing Rangers. We lost some revenue streams: domestic commercial and ticket income, but the slipstream to European revenues have more than made up for the gap. More importantly, we are also no longer caught in an arms race with a death-risk opponent, allowing us to bring costs below income and plan longer than the current season.

BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

Efe is fine when he has little time on the ball. Centre half suits him. Rest of the time I know what you mean.
——————————————————–
Can you quantify “little time on the ball”? Do you actually mean no time on the ball ;)
I’m being a bit harsh on the big man…
It wouldn’t be that a certain Serb held out for a larger pay poke before putting pen to paper and pee’d off Austin only for a certain John Guidetti to sign two days latter and get the prima donna role as a wee slap in the face to a certain Serb???

Very interesting stats provided by Barcabhoy, makes good reading – a copy should be emailed to every Sports Editor, Business Editor and Editor-in-Chief at every newspaper in Scotland, as well as the BBC, with the message ‘please stop peddling lies now you have the truth to hand.’
I think it was Paul67 who wrote:
‘Any part of my club that is dependent on Rangers is a part I can live without’.
Those words are as true now as they have ever been.
Mibbees Sepo isnae married and he finks aw the Glasgow burds are woofers!
Who knows?

I’d be cautious too. To get rid of Ashley though will cost a bundle.
Then they need to sort out their business, their first team and their infrastructure.
That’s another bundle or two.
Then they need to get into the Champions League.
Each season where they fail to get there is another bundle.
That’s a lot of bundles. A bundle of bundles indeed.
Presumably there’s a queue of investors at the door, each with a bundle to give…

‘If new Rangers is, as you expect, unable to offer meaningful competition, we’ll see a short term increase in attendance/season tickets, then a return to current levels as the curiosity and bigotry value diminishes.’

If there’s money to be made from it the level of bigotry will not diminish.
The Battered Bunnet;
I think Ashley, the ‘Maidenhead stall minder’ will walk away with a small profit and his ego intact.
He does not know what he’s got himself into but he’ll learn, and as I said, he is no fool nor no medal of honour winner, or contestant, either.
He is a God Father though. No shit.

There is another factor which should be taken into account. I don’t know if you caught the reaction to Newcastle’s defeat last night, but if radio callers are in any way typical, then their supporters are going to make a serious effort to force Mike Ashley out, starting this weekend. This involves boycotting, fully or partly, Sky’s flagship Sunday 4pm game against Spurs at the ol Sports Direct stadium. Could get interesting.

Bundle or Bundling may refer to:
Product bundling, a marketing strategy that involves offering several products for sale as one combined product – Sports Direct Sevco Tat?
Bundling (fundraising), when donations from many individuals are collected by one person and presented to the recipient – MASH?
With acknowledgements to Wiki.
Can you imagine going round to Ronny Deila’s house and the furniture wasn’t well organised?

You say “If”.
My position is that the money will diminish.
If the corollary is diminishing bigotry, let me know where to sign.

People are right, but it wasn’t a comparison.
It was a scale, with Ghod at the top with the ole Larsson jersey on the back.

You’re labouring under the misapprehension that your opinion matters. Only one man’s opinion matters and I doubt if he posts on here.
Celtic Mac:
I saw the result but wasn’t aware of the fallout. I’m not sure what Ashley’s stance would be on it, would he be stubborn and see it through?
I don’t know. I don’t know the man personally but I know some who grew up with him and they give me a wee insight into his style.
His style is not to back down where there is money to be made, apparently he is bolshie; but maybe, just maybe, he believes he’s got enough to pay the mortgage and the window cleaner and still have enough left over for a night in a certain bar in Berks, with poles (vertical steel ones) in it. Not that I’ve ever been in that place, no zimmer frames allowed, horny house rules.
Mate only time will tell what he will do.
I personally think – think – he’ll walk away from Rangers. I don’t know that for a fact, it is just my opinion, but I think he’ll walk away from Rangers and possibly Newcastle too, but not without his bus fare.
Regarding the John Guidetti charge. I think it’s likely that some dunderheid at the blunderdome thought ‘it’s no fair that even the hoops players can laff it us’ and put in the complaint just to appease ra peepel. The SFA are then seen to have acted on said complaint but without proper legalese, and now having wiped their eyes, have seen that it is without credence. Now they are hoping it is buried and forgotten. But I like many others hope to see the conclusion and a statement from Hampden that there was no basis for the charge.
Reminder for tomorrow night folks if you can afford to :-)

“A football club, once incorporated, is indistinguishable in Scots law from its corporate identity.”
the law
bournesouprecipe:
Yeah that’s good to know mate but the law in Scotland is only now learning that a certain club is above all law, civil, moral, ethical, social, business, legal and even God’s law too.

Anthony Stokes has 14 assists this season along with a superb weave, which makes him incredibly more attractive.

Touch blunt Ernie, although I take your point.
Unfortunately for that fellow, I doubt even he can stimulate enduring interest in congress with football’s own Norma Bates.

Ronnie disnae have any furniture. In his living room he’s got a wall mounted tactics board a mirror that he uses to practice his ‘Ronnie Roar’.
The rest of the room is clear and Zen like. Apart from a couple of dumbbells lying in the corner for when Johnny comes for a sleepover.

Funny thing is Kit, Mike Ashley runs Newcastle in a similar way to Peter Lawwell runs Celtic, will sell on his best players and bank the money long before anyone knows how good the team could be. Recently announced profits of not far short of £20 million, and that is three years in a row Newcastle have made money. Still have debts of over £100 mil mind you, but if he can make money under the present deal, how much can he make under the next one? Would sell the club if he had a buyer, but like Murray before him, no takers.
Johnny clash,
Vfunny. :)

Ha- I’ll set them up
Celtic Mac:
The difference between Mike Ashley and Peter Lawwell is the former is the owner and the latter is the employee; the latter has a lit heated driveway and the former has a big helipad. Not to far from the pole dancing pub either.
Yeah for sure, you don’t have to ask, go for it mate, if you include a number I’ll give you a quick call.
@usa mind.

Like most on here I would not claim to know anything about MA apart from what I have picked up from the media – so that’s obviously not much!
However I do recollect that he bought NUFC only to discover that he had been sold a pup by the Halls and one Freddy Shepherd – a friend of Mr Souness and SDM I believe!
He has stated that he will sell the club but only on terms favourable to himself which is of course his right. He has made NUFC financially stable and pretty secure in the EPL.
However the Toon Army like so many others believe that they are entitled to something better than mid table security. However to challenge the bigger clubs would cost hundreds of millions of pounds with no guarantee of success.
He has made a considerable fortune in the retail business which contains many hard headed business people.
All this tells me that the guy will stick it out until he gets what he wants – what no-one seems to know is just what that is!
I think it is also interesting that he sent some of his closest aids to Glasgow to get involved in a business that on the face of it is pretty small beer in relation to his other enterprises.
Why? Could it be that like CG and SDM he now knows just how much money can be taken out of the gullible people at the bigotdome?
All this suggests to me that the pantomime has several acts to go before the curtain comes down on the zombies!
