HAKSABANOVIC: VITAL 48 HOURS

1

WINGER Sead Haksabanovic could be on his way to Celtic with the next 48 hours absolutely crucial in the proposed deal.

The champions and the 23-year-old attacker’s club Rubin Kazan have already agreed a transfer fee, according to the Russian media.

There are also suggestions the player is due in London today for a medical before the move can progress.

The Hoops’ interest in Haksabanovic gathered pace with the news he would be available at a knockdown price, as CQN reported yesterday.

The Swedish-born left-sided wide performer, who has won 18 caps for his adopted country Montenegro, cost £6million when he joined from IFK Norkopping 15 months ago and is under contract until 2026.

ON A WING AND A PRAYER…Sead Haksabanovic could be heading for Celtic.

However, Rubin Kazan, who were relegated from the top flight last season, are now ready to cut their losses on Haksabanovic who spent the second half of the campaign on loan at homeland outfit Djurgardens due to FIFA regulations following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Swedish team are eager to extend his stay, but sources insist the forward, who had spells at West Ham and Malaga earlier in his career, is more interested in a switch to Scotland.

The exciting touchline raider is reported to be keen to join his former team-mate Carl Starfelt in Glasgow and he could now get his wish.

Russian transfer guru Vladislav Zimagulov revealed: “Rubin have agreed to sell Haksabanovic to Celtic.

“The clubs will agree a fully fledged transfer and not a loan.

“Two weeks ago, it was written that negotiations between Celtic and Rubin did not work out allegedly because of difficulties with financial transactions.

“Now the clubs are close to an agreement and, apparently, have reached a compromise.”

The Russian side have also admitted they are desperate for funds after their fall in the country’s second tier.

Their financial plight could hasten Haksabanovic’s move to join Ange Postecoglou’s title winners.
