I apologise unreservedly if you felt I was questioning anything about your family. There was absolutely no criticism or ulterior motive intended.

Family must always come first , I totally understand that.

I always try to encourage as many supporters as possible to attend Parkhead, as often as is practicable. I have bored people about tv and Internet streams killing our game.

That was my only motive and once again I apologise for my clumsy post.

    HH.

  5. Would really like to see Armstrong played through the middle. Thought it was a good opportunity today when he came on but Forrest was taken off instead of Rogic. Like all attacking minded players they thrive on goals, i just think he’s a bit stifled on the left.

I have expressed my view many times. It does not differ much from many posters on CQN.

If I thought that Celtic agreed with our enemies to save them AT ALL COST then I would be both surprised and badly let down. To the extent that I would not be willing to be an active attending supporter.

I can fully understand a desire to keep the spending power of rangers/sevco fans within the Scottish game as we would be weakened by their absence. I cannot understand the mentality of “at any cost”.

I suspect they agreed or colluded, if you will with one version of the 5 way agreement as I cannot see the agreement being passed without, at least, consultation with Celtic and all other SPL clubs.

I recall that initial instincts from the club were to try to save them but have sanctions imposed upon them but somehow they achieved the first without achieving the second. Either they were incompetent in managing their prosecution or they were naive in handing over the prosecution to bodies determined to prosecute as lightly as possible. There only remains one other possibility, which is the one I hold onto- that they knew that criminality was involved and that they were prepared to wait until this unraveled before they made any strong public utterance which could be spun as an, at best, an opportunistic attack on a weakened rival, or, at worst, a sectarian exploitation of the situation.

The whole landscape is so murky, I cannot be any more definite than that.

I do not buy the view that they missed them so much, they agreed to have an unrepentant lot return to have a second shot at shafting them.

I am unsure if smart operators like DD and PL would allow themselves to be easily outwitted by any SFA or Masonic conspiracy to bury the truth.

I doubt they would see Rangers 3 years (now 4) spent in the wilderness as an adequate punishment in itself.

So, I hold onto the hope that either they believe that criminal proceedings will finally sink them or prevent them from coming back as a threat in any quick timescale.

However, I have absolutely no evidence on which to measure how likely my scenario is.

I live in hope but I still have my fears and doubts.

It struck me that only 2 other players of the same height as Leigh Griffiths could have scored that goal. Henrik and Uwe Seeler. Some company.

Was in church this afternoon at a christening had to leave the house before the game ended and I was happy with the score when I left the house, But I wasn’t too impressed by the way we played, but we won, gained three points on the league leaders.

With me leaving the house before the game finished, I was a bit worried how the final few minutes went, relieved when my nephew told me they had won by the 2-1 score as it was when I left.Ended the day half cut.

It strikes me that we were in a very difficult season we have lost 2 of the best Centre Backs seen at Paradise for many years and due to injuries we have been unable to play a settled back four. However, despite this we are only 1 point off the top of the SPL and are second in our Europa league group those shouting for Ronnys head are living in cloud cuckoo land we will improve as our injuries clear up.H.H.l

    …………………

Agree with you. Posted the same myself earlier. We are far better than this time last season. Our people performances in Europe are better and we actually beat Hamilton …. away, as opposed to losing 0-1 …….. at home. When the injuries clear up and we play a more settled team things will improve.

  13. Thunder Road,

how are you mucker, hope you are making it on Saturday,

you are right about double rounds,

I don’t get out often so I wont be happy having to queue too long for a beer ;-)))

Was driving through Bannockburn last week and there was a Warburtons lorry waiting to pull out at a t-junction……saw him and normally would have slowed and signalled for him to pull out but kept going as my petty wee girfuy to……well nobody……bloke was just driving a lorry but its orange and got Warburton on the side!

Must admit i still buy the bread though :P

You are one very generous Tim.

    Hail Hail Amigo

  19. Captain Beefheart on

Don’t agree with the ‘worst team since…’ comments. My frustration is that we could and should be doing better.

I was wrong about Griffiths. He is capable in Europe. Hopefully I am also wrong about GMS, Blackett, Cifci etc. Probably won’t be though.

  20. Delaneys,

be good to see TCR but probably too soon for him,

just make sure you point me in the direction of Clydebank at

    chucking out time

  21. Heading off, Away to support another CQN man at his Conference in Dublin tomorrow.

  22. SFTB

    Thanks for your reply.

I differ from you and many others because our involvement will have no bearing on my future support.

That’s not in any other way than as a compliment as I know your commitment to Celtic.

I’ve spoken to Peter Lawell personally on two separate occasions about Celtic’s handling of Rangers’ liquidation and the new club. Now, I believe, because I’ve heard it from guys who grew up with him, that Peter is Celtic to the core, however, I know what I see before my own eyes.

I don’t trust him. I think he spends most of his time with ‘supporters’ who are far detached from you and me. When he replied to me I felt he was being condescending and told him so, politely.

Peter believes that many supporters want a return to the ‘Old Firm’. That’s not his fault, he’s listening to the wishes of others.

In addition, he’s listening to Dermot, the driver behind this.

I don’t think it will ever come out but I believe if it did, you and many like you would be disappointed.

  23. Canamalar

It is much easier watching a game devoid of the tension that is there when its live.

Don’t normally do it but was really drawn to it for a few reasons today…….mainly just the see it for myself thing though.

1st time i did it was when Skippy netted the winner at Snake Mountain……was working, had to endure it on the radio and it sounded fraught…..siege after siege on our goal and it was only a matter of time before we buckled.

When i got back and watched it, i thought…..wtf was i worrying?

We were happy to sit deep, let them have it and yet they couldn’t even muster a chance but the commentators made it sound so different.

Easiest victory there ive seen because watching it detached from all the emotion laid it bare for what it was.

Great pick with Dundee, I just picked Celtic to take them out of the equation, by the way AoW has warned me never to sit near you at Parkhead, that’s if I am ever allowed to go back !
