  1. on, the schools debate, my primary our lady and st josephs glenboig, provided francis burns who played for manchester united, and my dads old school holy cross croy, provided the great jimmy quinn.hh.

  2. I also politely disagree with Brendan Rodgers regarding the potential title clincher.

Police Scotland will determine the date of this game, Scotland is a bit of a police state when it comes to football as we already know, and have fought against. They swing into special operations as soon as a Celtic supporters bus gets near a motorway.

Brendan is wasting his time, history shows which end the police horses face at the first hint of trouble, the Sevco support is a fatally wounded animal, and they’ll be spared any further humiliation, or imtimidation after all, someone might make the sign of the cross and ‘cause’ a riot.

Celtic fans are asked to mix with with son of spawn, a club in its infancy too often as it is, their club was left behind and should remain meaningless, in a meaningless fixture .

We have already won the league that contains fixtures that shouldn’t be described as Celtic v Rangers.

Do you think for one minute that, were the boot on the other foot,we wouldn’t be playing the huns at Ibrox or Celtic Park when they could win the league against us?

Naw,me neither. The papers and TV would be demanding it for the good of Scottish football.

We are forever being told how irrelevant Rangers are to us ….why does it matter so much when we play the league game ?

To show them the most irrelevant GIRUY in history!!!

  12. I’m not going to bother with the Grand National this year. Last year my horse started off at 33/1 at Aintree, and ended up at 2 for 1 at Tesco’s.

Apologies to all horse lovers ?

Overcast as usual in Dumbreck due to the proximity of Castle Grim

  13. Jimmy Smith who played for us in the early 70’s was a pupil of St Gregory’s.

I think he also played for Newcastle United.

Different club – same thuggish fans. If it saves a Celtic fan from being slashed, or a woman from being battered, I don’t mind not winning the league against whatever team they follow – as long as we get another three points from any of the games.

To be honest, I’d probably enjoy it more if we won the league against the Dandy Dons.

I just think agonising over when we play them plays into their own wee deluded minds how obsessed we are with them …justifys their “we’re the only show in town” mantra .

  16. Green pinata

I don’t think we just up the game v the huns. We’ve shown it a few times in the league v Aberdeen, Hibs and Hearts and mostly in the cups. We’ve won when we’ve needed to.

I think BR has learned from Liverpool that there are certain games in a season you have to have the team in tip-top physical and mental preparedness and that you cannot expect or demand that in every match as it would be unreasonable on their limitations- we are not talking about Messi or Ronaldo here, but James Forrest and Tom Rogic et al. They have limits.

As a result, most of the time – not all – they can coast through games like yesterday and Wednesday night knowng that 75% is just about enough. The trouble is that it’s pretty horrible to watch, especially when we don’t look like scoring. Hopefully, better player will result in more top performances.

…as for yesterday – good as always getting to see the Celtic.

However, Wee BGFC’s comment at the end was telling “Best bit was the final whistle” :-))

Totally agree , unfortunately there will be incidents /attacks whenever the game is played because hopefully the 7 will have been achieved .

I know we tried to take Jim Smith on loan-I think he arrived but he didn’t play for us,I don’t think. Our double season in 77? Think we also tried to take Green, can’t remember his first name-oh Tony!-around the same time.

Both had been hammered by knee injuries,a bit like Colin Bell. Just one after another.

    Did he start at Aberdeen?

  20. Imo, the games where we do entertain are those where the opposition come out and play. Most simply park the bus and run their guts out. I wouldn’t be too surprised to learn that Dundee completely ran out of steam on Saturday after exhausting themselves against us last Wednesday.

  21. Still no announcement about the post split fixtures ?

WTF are they playing at. Surely it would have been possible for them to predict a number of different scenarios before this past weekends fixtures and have a set of fixtures ready for each outcome. There’s only one game that matters anyway ( from a scheduling point of view……for me, they’re all big games if Celtic are involved ).

Woefully inept and with no consideration for paying fans whatsoever, especially those who travel to support the teams. Not fit for purpose ? No question about it.

Very little coverage of the 800-strong posh kick-the-Pope session in honour of their 9-in-a-row ‘Heroes’ – one newspaper article, and that was it.

Sunday there will be space for our quality layers to exploit (unlike most league games )

Its how we defend the space we leave that i think will win or lose the game .

A game needed from every player ….one thing thats without question is the backing the players will recieve from the stands .
