  2. On Tuesday/Wednesday there are 5 SPL games. Aberdeen and Ross County not playing. No idea why that is, but it means if we beat Motherwell we can go within a point of the Dons, assuming they win today.

  3. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

You know it’s interesting to read some praise for the referee today. It was McLean, brother of the ex-Ranger, right?

Earlier I read posts attacking other clubs, for example, Heart of Midlothian’s, Anne Budge was getting it for not commenting on last night’s hostilities.

Now in Budge’s case she may comment, she should for consistency in my eyes anyway. But then I’m a Celtic supporter and view things from our perspective.

Perhaps in Budge’s case she felt it was right to mention the damage our support did to Tynecastle. Our graffiti vandals have done the same to Celtic park’s common areas too. I actually think Budge did the right thing, in part anyway.

She has her views and will spout them for Heart’s perspectives. Not because we want the New club attacked.

    Perhaps she will, perhaps not.

That brings me back to the point I was originally going to make.

Are we attacking other clubs and causing hostility. How would you react if someone attacked you ?

Are the Referees any different ?

Other clubs will react to our (sometimes) ill-founded tirades, how exactly ?

    Makes you think, hopefully…….

  4. Afternoon all

Comfortable win for the most part though we were slack at times in the last quarter of the match. Excellent goal by Liam H and arguably our goal of the season from Adam M who is , after a year out of form, looking decent again. I thought the pitch was a bit trickier than the Killie game but we handled it well.

If Kris C is on his way then the very best of luck to him- he has been a smashing player for us. A few weeks ago in Zagreb I thought he looked finished ( despite his goal) and overall his star looks to be on the wane but I would be sorry if that was it for now. As for bringing back wee Shaun I am not so sure- great talent but too injury prone and I wonder if he would be that enthused about coming back.

I read some of the comments re the upcoming match on 1st February I share the anxiety about this fixture.Speaking to a couple of Bluenoses this morning I gather that the trouble after the match and specifically the attacking of Hearts buses was very bad and irrespective of the result I would expect them to cause trouble – it was not just bad in the old days when we won and I would expect them to react post-match in the same charming way that many of those who arrived in George Square and surrounding areas did the night after the Referendum when they had won even if Rangers wins ( which it might).

As for the media it will report on any trouble by referring to the ‘cruel taunts’ of the Celtic fans as though banners and songs ( which will be factually correct and , hopefully, funny) are as bad as violence. The same thing happened in 1980 when Celtic players and fans had the cheek to celebrate winning a cup final over Rangers with Celtic and its supporters being held equally to blame for the violence which was started that day by Rangers fans. I am selling my ticket to a friend for the semi-final.
