We’ve talked about the big changes needed at the end of the season for a while now, specifically in terms of the manager’s position. I was never in favour of firing Ronny midseason. By that stage the die was cast for European football, and we were nip and tuck with Aberdeen in a fight for the league.
My guess was that Ronny could deliver the league, and I expected a cup or two as well. The cups have gone – and may have been won had we changed manager months ago, but we could also have appointed the wrong caretaker (a high probability) and reduced our title prospects. The decision then was what was the greater risk to the league title. All other things being equal, sitting tight was most probably going to deliver the league.
We’re now three wins from becoming champions. Ronny is one of only two Celtic managers never to have lost a league title, and whatever disappointments there have been, he’s applied himself honestly and openly. He’s also a title winning part of our history and we need to handle our history well, even as a project concludes. Lessons from ’78 still rankle with some.

Someone has leaked to the media in Norway that RD is for the off. It was probably someone close to RD or his team.
Anyway he looks to be gone.

The scouting wallahs need fired too. I saw Willie McStay along with brother Paul on the concourse on Sunday but didn’t know who the others in the cohort were. I assume Paul was over as an interested observer but the others if they were the scouting party need to ask themselves if they are doing an honest job. If not them, then who in the hell is recommending these total duds, fuds and cripples??

Reading ETIMS earlier, those lists of total and utter tripe, signed for tens of £millions – all that money squandered, down the Swanee.
No dis-respect to anybody, and I’m speaking only my own opinion here – the first word that I thought was this – Agents.
If I was the major shareholder,financial investigators would be going through the books with a fine tooth comb, and every financial transaction would be scrutinised.
You cannot legislate for such waste of financial resources.
Or perhaps Dermot Desmond doesn’t care – after all, that money was mostly provided by the Celtic support.

Has anyone thrown Paul Clement’s name into the ring yet? Thought he was very unfairly treated by Derby after getting them into the playoff places of the Championship after only 7 months in charge. He understands the pressure of working at the highest level after being Assistant Manager under Ancellotti at Real Madrid. He has a great coaching pedigree and I think he would understand our club.

What frame of mind are the management and players in after Sunday?
There will, in my opinion, a mixture of utter deflation in some and “I couldn’t care less, I’m on the way out” in others.
Add to that the mood of the supporters who deem to turn up against Ross County, and we have a toxic mix.
The winning of the title should be a forgone conclusion from here on in – I have serious doubts that it will.
Who in our support would be any way confident that we will beat Ross County – a repeat of Sunday’s display will not suffice, and who knows maybe worse is still to come.
I could not even attempt to forecast what the team will be at the weekend – totally perplexed and lost at the moment.
Who buys injured footballers?

I was taught that by my school, my church, my parents, my brothers, my mates, and most every Celtic Supporter I’ve ever known.
If I was not an Idealist I would support our club being thieves and tramps.
We are not though. Our club is the support and every now and again our support example our humanity by their kind and heartfelt charity acts.
They don’t steal flags and silver, they feed the poor and the hungry.
A good team on the field is the icing on our true glory.
Anybody can win a European trophy, feck even the huns did it.
Not everybody does what we do as a support.
