Hapoel threat has merit, fabrications don’t make SFA report

790

Hapoel Beer-Shiva delivered Olympiakos first defeat in a Champions League qualifying match in six years. The Greeks have competed in the group stage every season since, holding their own throughout the period, so getting knocked out by Hapoel was the equivalent of losing a Scottish Cup semi-final to a lower-league club.

Hapoel are not better than Olympiakos, not nearly so, but they were good enough to progress when they got the breaks. Anyone who thinks we’ll easy past them into the group stage is being ridiculously complacent.

I’m trying to avoid the nonsense coming out of Ibrox while we have more important things going on, but good grief! Please, please, have them follow through on the nonsense of ditching their legally contracted Puma strips to wear something else.

That stadium seems to be a beacon attracting stupid people doing stupid things.

You’ll note the INDEPENDENT SFA report on crowd at the Scottish Cup final recorded no assaults whatsoever on Newco players. This clearly caused some dissonance at the media organisations who reported utter fabrications after the game.

Never mind, Newco is in the same good hands which were on the tiller when their disastrous EBT plan was enacted, and the players who benefited from EBTs are front and central of Newco media coverage.

If you can’t see how this story ends, you’re not looking.

I also have a Droidbox but it is a bit hit and miss. More often than not I find a decent dtream for whatever game I’m trying to catch but with a feww irritating bufferings every 10 minutes or so. Now and again I can’t get any watchable stream. So for Celtic games on TV I don’t take the chance and go over to my Bhoy’s flat for Sky. Overall, still good value for what you pay for it.

When I have the house to myself I get out my big long ethernet cable (ooo-er) and that usually improves the buffering compared to using wi-fi. The cable’s just long enough to stretch from the upstairs router to downstairs TV but at neck height, risking decapitation if I jump up for a goal.

So just so I’ve understood this correctly. Plug 1 in upstairs near the router and connect the router to the plug with an ethernet cable. Plug the other one downstairs near my TV and plug an ethernet cable from it to the Droidbox? As simple as that?

Go up to RS Components in Towhead and get them to make you a cable long enough to watch it safely. As long as it’s less than 90M (about 100 feet in old money) you’re sorted! Means you can use it when others are in the house.

Craig Gordon has always had flaws to his game. But He has suffered from the same loss of confidence and malaise as the rest of the squad under our Ronnie, He will get back to it and sharper IF he still has the hunger and ability. He is slightly different from the out field players as he won’t work with Brendan as much as the others. Signing another will do no harm, Keep him on his toes or replace him, Up to him.

Totally support Craig Gordon (mag article). Astana goal never his fault. Really unlucky it landed straight at their guy’s feet and then sat up perfectly for him, followed by a great finish. Sometimes your luck’s just out. Very good shot stopper and goalkeeper full stop. Needs to work on his judgement on crosses though (speaking as an ex-junior goalkeeper…). We’re lucky to have him.

Whilst I see there is a telecoms discussion (love a discussion on CQN) perhaps someone better qualified than I can answer this one for me.

I have Sky at home but only because the area I live in has limited or zero freeview signal and there is no outside aerial.

My intention is to downgrade my Sky to Freesat, purchase BTTV and thus watch my sport and the “compulsory” kids channels I need for the brood…

I would then watch all the terrestrial channels through my Sky and connect to the BT channels via HDMI channel using the Infinity hub.

Have you ever tried the openbox v8s £37 (1 off payment)or so on ebay or Amazon 2 ethernet plugs from Argos £20 (1 off payment) or so and a Gift card from ebay or Amazon again about £13 for a year every year.

Initial set up a bit expensive but then it’s only £13 a year from there on.

This gives you all Sky sports all BT sports all Sky movies in fact everything on Sky plus Setanta, Premier sports etc. With no buffering whatsoever and no cables running through the house, the only cable you need is 1 Sky cable coming from a Sky dish.

Remains to be seen of course , but the Brendan factor ,to my mind , has already created a seachange in our players form.

Now , his gentle remonstration to our supporters was highly significant .We also need to regain our confidence in our team .

“return after being banished” was disgraceful. At least BBC used the L word in their “return after liquidation”. however not a sign of “first top flight game for the Phoenix club which took Rangers place”.

Morning all. Been having trouble getting the last few Celtic games on the kodi, so might take the safe option and call round to my dear old mother’s house and keep her company while she shouts at the telly. She loves the Celtic games. Listening to the SMSM, I think we really need a win today, Dodgy Dave is about to splash the cash to help them not just win the league but compete in Europe. Be afraid all, they’re coming!!!

I know when we were talking about Joe allan during the euros i thought he was a poor mans Johansen from two years ago, He was awesome then. If Brendan could work his magic on him, Yeah that would be ace.

Great player who just seems lost just now. Brown looked immense on Wed night so hopefully it continues and rubs off on Jo. Bitton I am not a fan Mac, I think he doesn’t really care and I was surprised when i read his comments saying he wanted to stay, His body language and facial expression doesn’t look like a man who is happy. We will see. I hope Christie gets some game time and Armstrong and McGregor both look short on confidence as well. Armstrong on the left doesn’t do him or the team any good. McGregor looks good at times and others he looks over awed. Young man so we will see.
