HAPPY HALF-CENTURY, ANGE

ANGE POSTECOGLOU purred with satisfaction as he witnessed his Celtic side rattle in three goals in an impressive Europa League Group G victory over Ferencvaros in Budapest last night.

The Hoops boss insists he is not the sort of manager to “pop open the champagne” when his team claim a clean sheet and his line-up is geared for attack, home and away.

However, a milestone passed in the Hungarian capital without much fanfare – the Parkhead side’s FIFTIETH goal under the reign of the Greek-Australian gaffer.

GREEN FOR GO…Kyogo Furuhashi menaces the Ferencvaros rearguard.

The memorable strike arrived in the third minute after Liel Abada intercepted a wayward pass and rolled the ball in front of Kyogo Furuhashi, 12 yards out. The Japanese hitman, who had claimed ten goals going into this encounter, snapped onto the presentation from the Israel international winger.

The £4.6million summer arrival from J-League outfit Vessel Kobe shaped to hit the ball with his right, switched to his left and delivered a perfect low drive past the flummoxed Adam Bogdan at his right. It was a goal worthy of the half-century of strikes since Postecoglou took charge in June.

Filipe Jota and Abada took that total to 52 with two more goals to ensure a 3-2 triumph in a typical flamboyant show from the Hoops.

And we all know there is more to come!

READY TO POUNCE…Kyogo Furuhashi moves the ball to his left foot as a Ferencvaros defender attempts to block him.

PICK IT OUT…Kyogo runs away in delight as his effort leaves keeper Adam Bogdan helpless.

BHOY OH BHOY…Kyogo takes the acclaim after the milestone goal.

MAKE MINE A DOUBLE…Kyogo is congratulated by Liel Abada, who would go on to hit the winner.
