Harley St got it wrong with Jozo

Jozo Simunovic was sent to Harley St for a confirmatory look at his knee before Celtic signed him five years ago.  An affirmative verdict came back but Jozo has missed the majority of games since due to injury or the need to protect his fragile joint.

When fit, he performed well and was more reliable than a clutch of central defenders we had in the years before he joined (with a couple of notable exceptions).  Still only 26, others would consider their best years ahead of them, but it is difficult to see where Jozo will fit in.  Countries in northern or eastern Europe, with a preponderance of artificial surfaces, are out.  His best opportunity might be a pay-as-you-play deal for a crisis club.

We are going to miss Craig Levein; his gaunt look, his whiney analysis of every defeat and his legendary take on the ‘natural order’.  He was rubbish, of course.

I am so very sorry for your tragic loss, words cannot describe how you feel or what you are going through and will go through. But please take this on board, things will get better, honestly. I know. 30 years ago we lost our 6 year old son Paul, a brilliant wee boy. The loss was unbelievable and and the black hole we were in seemed never ending, and life as we knew it stopped for good. Or so we thought. But time iIS a great healer. Sure, the pain never goes away but we know he is with us all the time, looking over us. For example, my wife sometimes loses an ear ring or her glasses or something silly and asks for Paul to find it. Honestly it always works.

So my friend, please believe your good lady is with you always, and she is, believe me.

Hope you find comfort at this awful time for you.

  2. imo the reason we didn’t see more of the alleged ‘fringe ‘and academy players was due to us playing our tried, trusted and favourites due to the importance of the 9.

  3. Johnny Hayes seems to have come in for more than his fair share of criticism on here, for someone who did a fair job for Celtic.

Ah, must be because he’s a Dubh. No?

  4. !!Bada Bing!! on

CM- I haven’t taken it as giving Jonny a hard time, he came in and done a really good job in difficult situations, I think it was the money on transfer fee, wages etc., that wasn’t the best use of resources HH

  5. Kinglubo – You’re post made me smile. I have experienced the same tragedy, more recent, but as you say, time is the only healer. I do the same thing as your wife and I talk to him every day. I’m sure HamiltonTim will find his own way through this and in time will be able to smile again.

Yes a very revealing programme, watching the Nine news on BBC Scotland and presenters distanced from each other on their sofa. However since they frequently change seats and sit where the other sat, what’s the point😱

We’re so lucky to have the NHS 🌈

Yes. I think about that every day.

Every day that I look at a member of my family who was given contaminated blood by our wonderful NHS. When they destroyed medical records, a real lucky break for us, it was almost like winning at the bingo. Then how lucky for us that they treated our family like lepers for years. I especially liked the luck we had when the Penrose Inquiry said that it must have been hard for the poor wee NHS souls to have had to witness the suffering of Hepatitis, HIV and CJD patients (none of whom would have been lucky to have these amazingly fortunate diseases had it not been for the good old NHS). Their heroic efforts have me desperately throwing street parties for them every chance I get. I’m so lucky.

I realise the above tars everyone in the NHS with the same brush, but the “We’re so lucky to have the NHS” post cannot go unchallenged. Some of us are the opposite of lucky to have the NHS. I am so fed up with the Heroes narrative being peddled by the people who have yet to suffer the inevitable incompetence of this shameful (to me) organisation. As a footnote, the NHS has killed more people through contaminated blood products than Covid.

  8. Ok lads. Any 1 know when the Scottish cup final will b played next year. Booking Santa ponsa for the 10 party.

  10. KingLubo and MNCelt,

As a father of two I have no idea how anyone can deal with the death of a child, and obviously hope never to find out.

I admire the courage of both of you to talk about it and wish you both well.

  11. Evening Petec,

    I hope you’re well and enjoying your tunes/choons :)

I’d hold your breath on any second coming – and if he does come around we should ask him why its the poor and people of colour that are being taken by Covid in greater numbers than others. A familiar story…

I know you are a big believer but it’s definitely worth taking a step back and considering it all – and be wary of accepting any talk of him testing us, tell him to test the rich equally.

    Hail hail

    Who wrote it ?

We don’t want to hate and despise one another

And this world has room for everyone, and the good Earth is rich and can provide for everyone

The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way

Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed

We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in

Machinery that gives us abundance has left us in want

Our knowledge has made us cynincal

    Our cleverness, hard and unkind

We think too much, and feel too little

More than machinery, we need humanity

More that cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness

Without these qualities life will be violent, and all will be lost

The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together

The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men – cries out for universal brotherhood – for the unity of us all

Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world – millions of despairing men, women, and little children – victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people

To those who can hear me, I say – do not despair

The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed – the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress

The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people

And so long as men die, liberty will never perish

Don’t give yourselves to brutes – men who despise you – enslave you – who regiment your lives – tell you what to do – what to think and what to feel!

Who drill you – diet you – treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder

Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men – machine men with machine minds and machine hearts!

    You are not machines!

    You are not cattle!

    You are men!

You have the love of humanity in your hearts!

    You don’t hate!

Only the unloved hate – the unloved and the unnatural!

    Don’t fight for slavery!

    Fight for liberty!

In the 17th Chapter of St Luke it is written: “the Kingdom of God is within man” – not one man nor a group of men, but in all men!

    In you!

You, the people have the power – the power to create machines

    The power to create happiness!

You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure

Then – in the name of democracy – let us use that power – let us all unite

Let us fight for a new world – a decent world that will give men a chance to work – that will give youth a future and old age a security

By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power

    But they lie!

They do not fulfil that promise

    They never will!

Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people!

Now let us fight to fulfil that promise!

Let us fight to free the world – to do away with national barriers – to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance

Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness

In the name of democracy, let us all unite

  15. Mr C,

Whoever wrote it he is absolutely Right…. howevaaaah tragically wrong.

    No manmade system can work.

You cannae make a PERFECT system from an Imperfect mind.

    Square Slice,

I think you’ll find all of those issues happened after that bitch Thatcher destroyed the NHS infrastructure by trying to run it as a private enterprise, introducing commercial management while reducing the medical expertise and focus on patient health, switching to money and efficiency, biggest problem though was the so called Labour Party finishing her work for her, she did not suffer enough.

  17. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

We will never know if a man made system can work perfectly because there are too many like yourself who refuse to allow it to happen.

    Majestic Hartson,

Can you advise us why you automatically blame all those bad things on God and not the devil?

I find this an interesting perspective and wonder why atheists use it to sew doubt in believers.

I’m not saying your an atheist or trying to sew doubt but you did touch on it and I am genuinely interested in why you use this kind of argument ?

  19. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Hydroelectric systems work

    Organic farming works

    Thermal energy harvesting works

    All man made systems

When it come to distributing them fairly then people like you believe some have a God given right to demand and receive more than anyone else.

  20. Callum is ma poty. Odsonne has been World Class with his movement and extreme skill, it wiz just my bias for midfielders that done it canamalar.👍

Is it ok for the .01% to live better?

To be brutally honest the way Celtic PLC have handled the 4 games checque after filling in a form, Ridiculous.

Take it aff the new ST.

I spoke to my Dad yesterday about it and he was disgusted about it.

There is a phrase in Counterstrike…. Sneaky Beaky like.

It was so easy to make it optional to take the 4 games aff the new STs (noone knows when we are allowed back).
