JOHN HARTSON believes Brendan Rodgers shouldn’t have selected Efe Ambrose to face Lincoln Red Imps.
The Celtic legend insists the Nigerian defender, at fault for the only goal of the game, should be axed once and for all.
Hartson feels the new Hoops boss should have looked for other alternatives while searching for a central defensive partner for Erik Sviatchenko.
Rodgers was without the injured duo of Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata while Charlie Mulgrew has yet to sign a contract extension.
The Welsh favourite said: “Efe Ambrose shouldn’t be anywhere near a Celtic shirt.
“Last season there were six or seven occasions when he cost them dearly.
“Surely Brendan has seen last season’s videos? Ambrose was at fault for a lot of the big games. Why is he still going with him?
“They had Mikael Lustig on the bench, Nir Bitton can slip into the back four – but they keep going with Ambrose.
“He did a lot to cost Ronny Deila his job.”
