I’m sure Ronny Deila is delighted to have the backing of John Harton, now he doesn’t need it. John’s attachment to the club is not in doubt, nor should a new manager want unquestioning support from anyone, but some clubs reach a point when they become unmanageable. Influential voices collaborate with perma-upset media and fans to expose shoots of recovery to a winter frost.
The mea culpa, when it arrives, is often too late.
Save us from the click bait that is suggesting Craig Gordon is a ‘target’ for some or other English club. Derk Boerrigter is interesting Real Madrid, honest, they’ve been watching him with the Development Squad.
I’ve been waiting for weeks on someone to ask the question: if a club accepts money on the condition that the lender has the right to appoint two directors, in the event the club removes those directors, do you reckon that would be a breach of the terms of the loan?
I’d be extremely worried if a well-intentioned, but nonetheless, baying mob chased away the last independent director of my club. Many Germans celebrated the Armistice, thinking a conclusion to hostilities had been agreed. Months later they learned the terms left them bereft of land, defensive capabilities, capital equipment, authority and self-respect. What seemed like an end to the trauma only set in motion far greater horrors.
Our good friends at Magners have offered two premium seat tickets for tomorrow’s game at Celtic Park. To win, email me the name of the team we’re playing at celticquicknews@gmail.com
Competition closes at 5pm tonight. If you would like to help build a school kitchen for 909 hungry kids for Mary’s Meals in Malawi while entering the competition, you can donate £1 here. Thank you.

Alfie Noakes 16:28 on 3 March, 2015………
40 years eh! Just in time to lend your support to ‘The Social Contract’……….and the beginning of the end for the ‘Labour Party’ as being representative of the working class…
TBM
Alfie Noakes
If the 1997-2010 Lab Govt was so good, why did the disparity in income and wealth between rich and poor widen at the greatest rate in history?
Read up a bit before coming on here spouting paash in a most aggressive and hectoring manner.
You should try recruiting for your beloved Labour Party, not driving them away with your uneducated half truths and Newspeak.
i for one wont vote for labour anymore, lame ducks everyone of them,no leadership.same old manifesto, boring party, and im sure when they were in power they did more damage to auxcillarys ,nurses, etc used the private sector for carers, minimium wage no pensions , etc thats the peoples party for you.
Hun- Is it after the Wolves CWC tie in the early 60s?
is it after the hun like hordes who rampaged across Europe?
Is it a derogatory term used in early 1800s,by those who chose to slate the change of dynasty from whoever was sat at the throne before the hanoverians?hun-German
Is it a cheat?
Is it a term of failure? fellow huns ensuring fellow huns carried on with bad practice with no chance of being booted.
Its a cheat, proud of sectarianism and a they have an excuse for every atom of air they breath.

michealj … close, but I think perhaps you meant to say that big mick is going to give them a good pounding, which is where this is headed. And the best thing is, the silly buggers seem oblivious and/or happy about it!

How you doin’ comrade? It’s getting a bit like the 70s on here, arguing with political numpties, eh?
Alfie strikes me as one of those f——s that cries while singing the Red Flag and then argues that we can’t afford bus passes for the elderly and infirm.
Ger57
not to mention the exponential growth in the offshore finance industry,if you have enough to enter in the first place.
Sad

In 1908 the first pension was introduced for people over 70 years of age.
In those days only 25% of people lived to 70 years of age and were able to claim their five bob!
Not the kind of policy a Labour Government could have, or would have, brought in.
“You can have a pension but we will set the age so high that most of you will die before you get it”
Life expectancy at that time in the UK was 47 years of age – pension age 70 years of age
Life expectancy now in the UK is 81
If those who set the pension law in 1908 were doing it today, the pension age would be 130 years of age – now there’s an idea for the SNP and a new Scottish Pension, another illusion, just like the price of oil.
off now have a great night Celts

I’m not sure where Mike ashley’s going to find £7,500. Down the back of his settee perhaps.

“Hey, Martin, any idea on how to overturn a 21 point deficit against a financially doped-up team in the League, and maybe throw in a couple of cups while you’re at it?
Maybe restore our reputation in Europe within a year or two as well?”
“Well, yes, actually, I do, but it might be a bit out-dated in some supporters’ eyes.”
“Never bother then”.
All this MO’N revisionism gets right on my thruppenies.
Never forget the ’90s.
==
100% agree, Ronnie is doing OK after a bit of shaky start but, IMO, MO’N and his team are second only to the Lions. Ronnie’s young team have a way to go to emulate or hopefully surpass MO’Ns team despite some of the recent hyperbole posted on here . Henke, BBJ, Thommo, Lubo, Jackie Mac, Stan, Jos, Dolph, and Chris ‘Hun Skelper’ Sutton legends all despite some of the nonsense certain individuals tend to spout when on the MSM.
Don’t know if anyone posted but a good CELTIC man from Clydebank died yesterday ,,,RIP KEVAN BIGGINS,,,,Hail Hail
Alfie –
Having voted Labour in every election I have been able to vote in, I will vote SNP in May for the first time in my life. Oh how I look forward to Labour being wiped out in Scotland.
They are traitors to their class and karma is coming their way.
I must admit I dont know if the lying king taking over at the Rangers is a good thing or a bad thing from the Celtic point of view ? and I havnt really seen it debated on CQN.Does this mean we have now lost track of what is going on over Ibrokes way and there is no one on the blog who can sumarise the latest goings on from a Celtic point of view.H.H.
Aaaa..the old Price of Oil…an Oil fund would have been Good…Maybe one of the Labour Govs wehave had should have thought about that..na..instead lets use the money to Bomb Iraq…smart….

Dave King didn’t even wave a red card against liquidation.
That is how much he cares about the Rangers Group of Clubs.
bgx,
Hind sight has 20/20 vision, where were you when that idea was worth something ?
7,500 fine for Mike Ashley that will be him bankrupt then
Joe F
They have been financially hamstrung by Mike Ashley.
They have no bank facility.
They have a crumbling stadium.
They have 12 players at the end of contract.
They have not one single player prospect.
They have another tax swindler at the helm.
They have inherited a toxic brand.
They have Craig Whyte in the cupboard
They have nearly 50%of their team on loan
What could possibly go wrong?
The game is over the Rebels have won CSC
Steinreignedsupreme. So are you saying King taking over at Ibrokes is not something that should concern Celtic or the support ? As I said even if I had a guide dog I dont think I could follow there goings on. H.H.
Ok, Alfie. I’ll spell it out for you. FA_N_N_I_E_S
My point remains. There are people on here who know what they’re talking about and who have fought on the front line for the advancement of the poorest in society. You come along hiding behind internet anonymity spouting the new labour line in a superior tone. It’s obvious you know only what your puppet master tells you.
How dare you??
What was Ashley fined for ?

If you’re lurking, thanks for your kind words on Saturday night, or was it Sunday morning?
It was great meeting you in the KDS after the game and it was a pleasure introducing you to my family and friends.
It was a long and exhausting day – not getting any younger – and I am only now beginning to feel normal, but knowing what you expend in time, effort and money in following Celtic, I can’t complain.
You are an example to us all.
Take care and Hail Hail.
Canamalar…probably at school, at a guess…

No it should not concern Celtic fans – that Sevco car crash is no threat to us.
Aside from what bournesouprecipe stated – on the evidence of what we all watched at Hampden they are at least a decade behind Celtic.
King started off promising £30m a year ago. A few months back it was down to £8m. He’s be asking the Huns to finance the revolution withing weeks.
bgx,
So what’s your point ?
The money was spent a long time ago

Alfie strikes me as one of those f——s that cries while singing the Red Flag and then argues that we can’t afford bus passes for the elderly and infirm…………
Aye, for sure pal, I’ll wager we are closer to ‘total labour mismanagement’ now than we were then, even given the downturn in support for the ‘charismatic (sic) leadership’…….
Need the young ones to step up to the plate, and this is where I perhaps disagree with you and other concerned individuals on here, in that I really cannot buy into this independence flag waving stuff. Still feel that there is an element of anti-English bullishness about all of it that leaves me cold.
Nonetheless Ger, the present ‘incarnation of The Labour Party’ is not the answer (for me anyway)……
Unfortunately, we are in a space/time of personalities, rather than policies, and the aforementioned “Labour Party’ loses out on both counts IMO………..
Hope you are well and hey, keep fighting the fight………
Trust your genuineness 100%..
God Bless……..
