I’m sure Ronny Deila is delighted to have the backing of John Harton, now he doesn’t need it. John’s attachment to the club is not in doubt, nor should a new manager want unquestioning support from anyone, but some clubs reach a point when they become unmanageable. Influential voices collaborate with perma-upset media and fans to expose shoots of recovery to a winter frost.
The mea culpa, when it arrives, is often too late.
Save us from the click bait that is suggesting Craig Gordon is a ‘target’ for some or other English club. Derk Boerrigter is interesting Real Madrid, honest, they’ve been watching him with the Development Squad.
I’ve been waiting for weeks on someone to ask the question: if a club accepts money on the condition that the lender has the right to appoint two directors, in the event the club removes those directors, do you reckon that would be a breach of the terms of the loan?
I’d be extremely worried if a well-intentioned, but nonetheless, baying mob chased away the last independent director of my club. Many Germans celebrated the Armistice, thinking a conclusion to hostilities had been agreed. Months later they learned the terms left them bereft of land, defensive capabilities, capital equipment, authority and self-respect. What seemed like an end to the trauma only set in motion far greater horrors.
Our good friends at Magners have offered two premium seat tickets for tomorrow’s game at Celtic Park. To win, email me the name of the team we’re playing at celticquicknews@gmail.com
Competition closes at 5pm tonight. If you would like to help build a school kitchen for 909 hungry kids for Mary’s Meals in Malawi while entering the competition, you can donate £1 here. Thank you.

‘The SNP have ruled out any coalition with the Tories .. ‘
###
They haven’t ruled out a supply and favour arrangement.
Is Scotland more likely to support independence if there’s another Tory government?
Who do the SNP want to be the next government?
Think about it.
bournesouprecipe. The STV Sports news have just mentioned about drawing down the 5 million but very briefly. H.H.
Oh please, please, please give it a rest with the effin politics.
Sheez.
Oh I wish I could listen to SSB tonight. How stupid are they????
Regarding the debate about the Labour Party. My god Alfie noakes is right. They are the only party to do something for the poor in the UK. They have lost their way a bit. But it’s clear that for some the referendum has caught people in the love of fervent nationalism and they will now vote for the SNP. The party who are institutionally racist (I’ve stopped saying sectarian). Evidence? The OB act.
For a celtic site I find this pretty curious but then again I am not in the business of convincing people to change their vote. It’s up to you. Just remember what you are actually voting for.

STV major in being a good few Zombie steps behind.
The poker game is warming up, anyone think big Micks got a wee ace up his sleeve, and will he use it before the EGM or after the EGM?
Labour Party lost their way?
Yip. Sadly they aren’t looking to find their way back.
Quick death to New Labour.

Tuesday 3rd
I’m feeling exceptionally well today. (It’s only the third day, I know, but all the same I’m feeling great.) I had a visit this morning with two reporters, David Beresford of The Guardian and Brendan O Cathaoir of The Irish Times. Couldn’t quite get my flow of thoughts together. I could have said more in a better fashion.
63 kgs today, so what?
A priest was in. Feel he’s weighing me up psychologically for a later date. If I’m wrong I’m sorry — but I think he is. So I tried to defuse any notion of that tonight. I think he may have taken the point. But whether he accepts it, will be seen. He could not defend my onslaught on Bishop Daly — or at least he did not try.
I wrote some notes to my mother and to Mary Doyle in Armagh; and will write more tomorrow. The boys are now all washed. But I didn’t get washed today. They were still trying to get men their first wash.
I smoked some ‘bog-rolled blows’ today, the luxury of the Block!
They put a table in my cell and are now placing my food on it in front of my eyes. I honestly couldn’t give a damn if they placed it on my knee. They still keep asking me silly questions like, ‘Are you still not eating?’
I never got started on my poem today, but I’ll maybe do it tomorrow. The trouble is I now have more ideas.
Got papers and a book today. The book was Kipling’s Short Stories with an introduction of some length by W. Somerset Maugham. I took an instant dislike to the latter on reading his comment on the Irish people during Kipling’s prime as a writer: ‘It is true that the Irish were making a nuisance of themselves.’ Damned too bad, I thought, and bigger the pity it wasn’t a bigger nuisance! Kipling I know of, and his Ulster connection. I’ll read his stories tomorrow.
Ag rá an phaidrín faoi dhó achan lá atá na buachaillí anois. Níl aon rud eile agam anocht. Sin sin. (Translated this reads as follows: The boys are now saying the rosary twice every day. I have nothing else tonight. That’s all.)
They haven’t ruled out a supply and favour
arrangement ?
Your just making thing up as you go along ..
http://labourlist.org/2015/03/labour-mp-says-party-shouldnt-rule-out-a-grand-coalition-with-the-tories/
It was RD who says he wouldnt rule out that arrangement ..
Need to try harder, Ernie ..
Ruth Davidson .. No, Oor Ronny :)
He ?
Freudian slip!! :)
tonydonnelly67. I am no expert but I think Mike Ashley still holds all the aces and the best that King and his group can get is agreement to work with big Mike. However,I think it is very unlikely to happen as the conditions on the draw down of the 5 million will be very stringent and without that money the game may well be up.I think all this cheering that King has won may well be premature.H.H.

Shortbread seem to think the 2 guys left on the sevCo board are sitting hoping king gives them a pay off haha no idiots there still there because Mike Ashley wants them to be there, Tom english seems to be the only one who thinks king has took on the wrong Man in thinking ashley will wonder off in to the sunset a beaten man, Ashley will leave when Ashley decides he wants to.
King IMO is walking in to a nightmare and he won’t be putting his own money in to get out of it

my take on it … unlike some, I dont think MA will pull his funding, even iF DK gets control this week …. it is a good deal for him, and he wont give up on a steady income stream unless there is no other choice…
DK is betting that Sevco will get promoted this season, and crowds will start picking up next season. .. they will then, at some point in the future, do well enough to qualify for europe, make more money, which would eventually allow them to pay off MA …. after which, DK will do a Murray and steal bit by bit, everything that is left ….all they while, being held up (like DM was) as their hero!
in reality, If Sevco do go up, and make europe, and make piss potts full of money, they will be paying a lot of that to MA, so they will not have resources to fund a real fight for many years to come …. in order for DK’s scheme to work, they would have to get very lucky, and bring in a whole crop of young kids, who are brilliant, and are prepared to play for peanuts … which isn’t going to happen ..
… if DK/Sevco dont do all of these things, they will keep paying a large portion of their revenue to MA to pay back their borrowings ….in effect, they will have to pay MA handsomely for the right just to continue to exist … if they dont agree, he will sell them lock, stock and two smoking barrels….
There is a chance that DK thinks he can get in, and then have the contracts with MA declared unenforceable, and then try to keep his money….. I haven’t seen the contracts, but MA is smart enough that the chance of this happening is almost non-existent…
so, they are hoping against hope that they will qualify for and win the CL, make enough money to pay off MA … (in which case, DK will rob them blind)… but that is the best case scenario for them, and a one in a million shot…
the likely scenario is they survive while MA takes all but enough for them to survive while they crawl along, financially hamstrung … or, if they are stupid, then they will get into a pissing contest with MA, at which time, he figures it isn’t worth the hassle, sells their assets, gets his money back, and they are for all intents and purposes dead (again/still/…. as the case may be).

Will Michael be forced by the SFA to take his loanees back, since he has been found guilty of dual interest…..?
Incidentally, Frank MacAvennie said earlier on ssb that replacing Michael with ming “was like changing the deck chairs on the Titanic” ……..hahahahahahaha ….. With ‘silence’ for a few seconds, it was obvious the comment went down like a lead balloon with the hunpundits …. Brilliant !!!!!!!!

I can refer you to the Joseph Rowntree Foundation site. “Poverty and Wealth across Britain 1968-2005”. I appreciate these stats are fairly dated but the accelerating rate in the rise of inequality is clear and the actions of Govts since then have not helped the poor in any way. The wealthy, poor dears, lost a packet in the immediate aftermath of the 2008 crash, but they have been bailed out by handouts from govt and the proles have paid through austerity.
Sorry, can’t do the link thingy.

Is it possible that Big Mike could put them into admin before the week’s out ? Just caught the end of Tom English piece on Shortbread and I think he summed it up that no one has taken MA on and won. This is a guy who knows the rules of fighting dirty and everyone should expect a twist before the week is out..
Switched over to SSB for the first time in years, lasted all of 3 minutes, no idea how people can listen to that…
…….and……what about last year’s circa £16m loss which is currently ‘OWED’ by the club to the clumpany in the books (conveniently hidden by the SMSM) ………add that to this year’s loss etc, and ming has a little problem moving forward….
If the SFA fined Mike Ashley for his dual influence role, does that mean they don’t agree about with the five loanees arriving from MA’s NewcUnt?
I imagine they have been rubber stamped to play in the lower divisions by the SFA?
Or maybe it is a bit like the “no sporting advantage” thingy?
Which is understandable in a way because they are either expensive mince and/or injured.
Big Mike, won’t roll over for the lying king to scratch his big fat belly.

The idea that people in Scotland will vote against the SNP on the back of one bill is laughable, and frankly insulting while working people are using food banks to feed their children.
People know who they are voting for, and just as importantly remember exactly who they are not voting for:
Nu Labour abandoned the poor for their new friends in ‘the city’.
Nu Labour presided over the biggest transfer of wealth from the taxpayer to private sector in history.
Nu Labour started the privatisation of the NHS.
Nu Labour introduced tuition fees, using Scottish MPs whose constituencies would not be affected to push through the vote.
Nu Labour then trebled those tuition fees, paving the way for students to be engulfed in mountains of debt if they dared to try and further educate themselves.
Nu Labour committed the worst war crime of the 21st century.
The Nu Labour branch office in Scotland is finished, and it has nothing to do with nationalism.

Great analysis …. I think the only thing holding Michael back is the fact that the ownership of ipox is still being determined by the Courts….!!
BBC Sports news still saying King has won and Mike Ashleys two men on the board are hanging on for compensation. Also that this is the second defeat today for Mike Ashley as he has been fined £7,500 also they say there may be no need for the EGM on Friday.I dont think they have thought the current situation through or maybe we have read it wrong ? H.H.
