FORMER Sevco Rangers marquee signing Joey Barton – remember him? – has some bad news for Celtic fans this morning.

This Aristotle in football boots reckons Brendan Rodgers’ bubble has burst and the team from Ibrox are swiftly gaining on the champions in the race for the Premiership title.

Barton continues to do his best work away from the action and is a regular guest on the Alan Brazil Breakfast Show on Talksport.

He reckons Graeme Murty’s side are “catching” the Hoops as the gap between the clubs is now no longer in double figures.

Barton said: “They’re doing well, Rangers (sic). Great win yesterday.

“Give Rangers (sic) a bit of credit, they’re catching Celtic, they’re only nine points behind them now.

“With Celtic drawing yesterday against St Johnstone, has the Brendan Rodgers bubble burst?”

That’s a question that will undoubtedly burden the Celtic manager, his players and the team’s followers with some sleepless nights in the coming months.

An answer might be provided on Sunday, March 11 in Govan.
