Have no part of Ibrox farce

305

A constituency within Newco had enough of Celtic fans turning Ibrox into a party venue.  They decided an arrangement, that has been in place when Celtic visit Ibrox for longer than the host club has been in existence, had to stop, and convinced Newco to do their bidding.  Celtic were offered 700 tickets, an arrangement they reciprocated.

This is a farce, it is inherently unsafe, it incurs disproportionate police costs and Celtic should have no part of it.  Tell them the normal allocation of 7,500 tickets for visiting fans should be issued, or there should be no visiting fans whatsoever.

Celtic have an open invitiation to accomodate 7,500 fans or to reciprocate at a lower number.  In effect, this is a passive stance, ceeding the decision to one of Newco’s pressure groups.  It is time to take control, either there should be no visiting fans or a safe and appropriate number.  We cannot allow Scottish football to be ragdoll-ed by an angry fringe any longer.  I would be happy if we never saw them inside Celtic Park again.

If an Independence poll was based on a republic, it doesn’t have any chance of winning

If there ever is another one, the only realistic tweek would be to let Scots in other parts of the UK to vote. Ex pats is probably hoping for too much

Some questions for our friends across the water please,

I read other day, that for the first time ever, there were more IRISH passports issued in the 6 counties than British ones.

Can a resident in the North have both passports ?

Can a resident in the south apply for a UK one ?

Is it indictive of a bigger picture shift in demographics ?

As part of the Good Friday agreement, folks in NI can have both. I suspect the increase in Irish passports is due to Brexit

There is no right to a UK passport in Ireland

Anecdotally, I know a lot of GB folks with Irish grandparents are getting Irish passport due to Brexit. They can do that even is the relation was from NI due to the dual right there

In the current hustings for NI assembly, one of the Unionist parties quoted that polling on whether to have a border poll was static since GFA.

Could all be about Brexit really

  8. Has anyone heard anything or indeed know Petec ? He has been absent for a few weeks now ? It is not like him.

Exactly, and would, at a stroke, take the heat off the police, SFA & SPFL. If SFA feel that the rules are being circumvented by a zero figure, then agree 50/40/30 officials/ players’ friends, as the number, to be housed in the main stand. We can then carry on agreeing with all other clubs as normal. No rule changes, no Police bans and no political interference.

    Republicanism 2.

I was reading up on SF possibly becoming the biggest party in both the Dail and at Stormont.

But with less actual votes in the 6, and a reduction of DUP votes, and an increase in central alliance.

I seen another comment that traditional nationaist voters , there is a percentage ok to stay in the UK for several advantages, (Splitters boo).

Would a compromise agreement that had A Royal continue as a head of state for a future united ireland be acceptable ?

Would a united Ireland , no longer a republic, and retitled Ireland, be ok for some ?

    general interest on my part.

Irish citizenship can be applied for after a foreign national has spent a certain minimum period of living in Ireland. Also those with Irish ancestry could be eligible for Irish nationality and citizenship.

Lots of reasons for folk applying for Irish passports I.e. Brexit and quite a number in the nationalist population

getting the Irish passport rather than British.

Anyone saying we would be breaking the rules by not offering Sevco tickets for matches at celtic Park, you are correct. When did the rules ever apply to the huns? Cinch deal etc. About time our board stood up for it’s support.

Of course you’re correct, however Celtic are not for breaking rules, and neither am I. We don’t run the club & business in the same way as Ibrox, that much has been glaringly obvious over the last thirty-years. When you break rules whilst presenting your case, you weaken that case and your rule-breaking can be cast-up against you by your opponent.

I have every faith that Michael Nicholson, himself well-versed in the law, will bring us a solution – it may be in the close-season before it crystallises.

I work with many guys from the NE of Scotland who alternate their vote between the Tories and the SNP.

The SNP in the west of Scotland is a different animal to the SNP in the NE.

City looking a bit disorganized at the back. Ederson used to be an outfield player and he sometimes finds it hard to find one of his own players before he is rushed. Shows how hard big Joe must find it.

Great shot by Silva. Courtois save.
