HEARTS DERBY WOE – OVER TO YOU, CELTIC

CELTIC can move to within three points of Hearts with a game in hand if they beat Livingston in West Lothian this afternoon.

Derek McInnes looked on in misery as his side went 3-0 down before pulling it back to 3-2 against Hibs in a thrilling Edinburgh derby at Easter Road earlier in the day.

It was a remarkable game in the capital with David Gray’s men three goals ahead by the 48th minute as the league leaders were ripped apart.

Jamie McGrath thumped the home outfit into the lead inside three minutes when he first-timed a left-wing cross from Nicky Cadden past Alexander Shalalow from 12 yards.

Just on half-time, McGrath became the provider when he flashed over an inviting ball from the left and Josh Campdell rose superbly to guide a header wide of the keeper at his left from six yards.

Hearts were on the ropes only three minutes after the turnaround when Kieran Bowie, who had menaced their rearguard right from the off, latched onto a pass in the box and slide a low, angled drive into the net.

Credit, though, must be given to the visitors who pulled a goal back from Lawrence Shankland in the 75th minute and Cammy Devlin set up a grandstand finish with a second strike in the 88th minute.

Despite another couple of close things, Hibs held out for a dramatic victory.

Now the champions know what they have to do in Livingston this afternoon.
